To make sure that I am not that badly biased, I have roflstomp example this time, surprise, from Soviet Union side. Eastern European Server, ~16:30 UTC. It was yesterday.
I think that ammo box is my construction. There also was a rally point a bit further, though it may be a bit too close, even if it’s covered by several sandbags.
So, yeah, the battle is almost over. I think some folks managed to reach the first point, but the amount of time they managed to stay there was negligible.
The Pre-final score. Didn’t managed to capture the screenshots after it, unfortunately.
I remember folks having theories that now most folks focus on grinding Germany pre-merge.
I have another idea regarding why SU is not a popular faction in these times… but I’ll refrain from… speculating about it further.
Either way, seems that Steiner with his boys actually managed to reach Berlin. Though, I don’t think that’s going to be enough to turn the tide of the war. Who You think would nuke Berlin first? B-29? Or Pe-8?
Or would Germans somehow get the Rheintochter SAMs operational (or similar wunderwaffe), and it’s going to be a stalemate?
When I started to play this game, scenario was exactly reversed.
Soviets were stomping Germans 24/7. Same goes for Pacific, allies were completely dominating Japanese there.
It’s classic shifting of playerbase. Since there’s no reason for more Skillful players to play losing side. Because of fon unfair bonus for victory. It just supports behavior like this.
That map and first objective in particular is pretty unforgiving to imbalanced teams, I feel like most games I’ve played if they can make it to the bridge and survive the HE and artillery they will keep going and win the match, but most times people will avoid actually being on the point because theres no cover at all there from these things. I reeeeally wish theyd extend that objective to the area beneath the bridge, the river crossing map is that way and makes it more interesting to play IMO.
I recognised the problem even before reading.
The objective you were fighting over was Moltke bridge the most notorious farm location in all of Berlin. (a tourist attraction by this point)
Most Soviet mains just leave immediately because 99 out of 100 times they can’t even capture the first position and Axis can easily farm them.
Bruh, the soviet playerbase went to Moscow and $talingrad, cuz they know their OP gear alone can’t beat real players without skill and in Berlin the German gear is better than other 2 dogshite campaign which gives the german more fighting chances than in dogshite Moscow and $talingrad
That is true, while Germany and USSR are mostly balanced by the end of the campaign tree, Soviets usually dominate lower ranks which makes Moscow extremely painful to grind as Axis.
Also progression is obviously Soviet centered, who wants to grind the Panzer III 4 times and the Panzer IV 3 times with little real upgrades?
Stalingrad at least had the full access pack which gave significant boost to progression.
Stalingrad is not a russian bot farm though, it depends on hours, Soviets dominate morning and noon while Germans dominate night and evening (CET).
when you have been around long enough, you see the situation reverse itself many times. Sometimes a new level with a New piece of gear is all it takes to switch.
Only campaign I havent experienced a switch in is Stalingrad. (probably my time zone). But Russians get spanked nearly every time (with the exception of when me and my mate leveled them…great equipment). Tunisia has been 1 sided for a long while now too.
Show the ranks of the players and you will see the problem there. Berlin Soviet nowadays is mostly populated by new players or bots while the merge announcement has created this trend where Germany mains need to grind their best stuff quickly so they flock to Berlin.
Also add this bullshit way of balancing from the devs by messing around cap times, ticket bonus and ticket bleed all the time.
All I know is I had 90% winrate Allies in the first few months before I stopped playing. Playing it again a few months ago dropped me down to 60% (got as low as 50% but started clawing back). every game was fighting not only somewhat competent enemies, but completely incompetent team mates/bots lol
Its hard to say how competent they are when they dont really have any competition. Like Allies Tunisia they get complacent with no competition and colllapse and leave at the first sign of resistance.
I think the allies are coming back, I’ve been playing them since I came back to play this time and had pretty good winrate. The Lanchesters probably helped I have been having fun using the buffed auto 5’s too.
yeah I finished my grind about a month or two ago but for the last few weeks before I stopped we were pasting the Axis pretty easily (before lanchester). Just after flame/phosphorus nerf especially was easy…(funny about that)
