Instead of the crappy map “picking” system that we have now, I say we should be able to select which campaigns we want to play. By default, all campaigns would be selected for every nation. Each campaign that you choose would give a 15% exp boost (that would stack with "join selected nations, another suggestion I made) to encourage people to fill the queues. You would be able to select different campaigns for each nation (ex. I select Normandy and Tunisia for US, and Moscow for Germans, etc…) This could also pave the way for campaign specific loadouts to be added, which I will discuss in a different post (that I will write later).
I love Normandy maps, I love the whole late war vibe that you get there, but instead I have to deal with getting Gavutu 12 times in a row (I’m not joking, that actually happened). I think that players should be able to pick a theatre that they want to play without using custom games. Many people have a limited time to play, I personally am in University now, and I want to use my limited time to play on maps that I actually like
This system would mix well with the “join selected nations” suggestion that I made here:
This way, players could get Normandy only by filtering teams as Ger and US, and pick the Normandy and Ardennes campaigns. This might also help to ease @Veekay45 's suffering, finally letting him play his high BR Berlin maps with no BT-7s lol
Personally- i find selecting game modes more important than selecting maps, but this would non the less be an improvement over the current “fake” map selection.
Every campaign has trash and good maps, personally I think it would be better improvement if preference system actually filtered out the maps I disliked.
Besides I want game mode filter much much more.
By the name of all gods, old and new, let’s do whatever has to be done to never again see biplanes over Reichstag or Su-9 1946 over Stalingrad’s Univermag.
Usually I prefer any Ass over any kind of Gas, but my vote goes to YES.
It would be great to retain the preferred map system alongside the introduction of campaign selection. For example, I really love Berlin, but like many others, I absolutely hate some of the monstrously disgusting open capture points, exposed to fire from all sides from multi-floor buildings.
