Revise the Assaulter 3/Machine Gunner 3's class starter perks

This is far from being the optimal perk selection for sure but at least you said personally and did not pretend like they are the meta so, enjoy.

I find it rather overrated. I thought the medkit use speed is the best perk on the mobility perks tree as well when i didn’t know anything better when i had just started playing Enlisted. Rifleman 3 is the only class i will acknowledge the usefulness of this perk as they can get up almost instantly with the medkit use speed perk + its starter class perk and also with 19 mobility perk stats so you don’t have to compromise other essential perks as much as others. Even then, with rifleman 3 you don’t pick other health related perks on the vitality perk trees because stamina related perks and 35% vitality perk are just that good.

Love how many people here on random discussions love to be condescending. “Yeah when i was a retarded noob idiot i did that too, you know”. Im talking from my experience which is pretty long in this game.

Im not even talking about those or the riflemen3. Im talking about the healing speed. You got carried away in trying to be smart.

As respectfully as possible, you aren’t understanding his statement. He was simply saying, the only time health speed perks are worth considering are on riflemen 3 because of the class perk they naturally get. However, even then it doesn’t beat the vitality and sprint perks (“because it’s that good”), therefore it’s still not the best choice on the one class he would consider it for.

Yes, it can come in clutch under the right circumstances. As yui and I have both said, we thought it was a fantastic perk when we first started playing. It is a strong perk, without a doubt. In general, as more serious players invest in the game and learn how to most effectively play (think min-maxing), the perk essentially becomes useless (especially when playing against higly skilled players, which has become more rare these days). Enlisted is more or less a meat grinder, it’s fast paced, especially as an assaulter. In general, it’s far more efficient and effective to just switch to your next guy the second your active soldier goes down (even if it only takes 2 seconds to get up). Switching can be done instantaneously and you can sometimes save your downed soldier by switching and firing back immediately. Most importantly though, something that helps you all the time will always be better than something that only helps you part of the time. I personally would only consider heal speed as an option for longer distance fighting classes, because sprint speed isn’t as valuable there. But even then, switching guys is just as effective as you have even more time to engage to save the soldier when you’re at a distance, and something like aim speed for snipers would be way more beneficial. It just doesn’t really make a lot of sense to pick heal speed when you view the game in this manner.

Of course people are still free to play around with builds and have fun. It just won’t be optimal. Which is why I keep advocating for Vitality to be reworked. It’s just too strong for the min-maxers to even consider using something else. Which just takes fun out of the perk system. Sprint would still be a higly sought-after/valuable perk, but if vitality wasn’t an automatic pick, you could spend your fist six points in that column giving you a choice between sprint or run speed & heal speed.

I don’t really care about what people say a “meta” is, if I wanna use something over a “meta”, I am using it over the “meta”

Playing the game for a long game =X= Being good at the game, simple.

You are actually incapable of understanding what others saying aren’t you.

Good for you.

Thanks!

Ok but, if you don’t like Assaulter’s 3 perks, why don’t you just use assaulter 4 or any other instead of trying to remove what other people might like ?

It is true that the 35% vitality is so good that it makes other perks on the vitality perk tree meaningless. On the other hand, this would make explosions way stronger as well, think of it that how many times has 35% vitality saved you from near explosions or from GL that otherwise would have killed you on the spot.

I AM pretty much only using Assaulter 4 for how good it is at this point but the Assaulter 3’s starter perk is so bad that i wouldn’t even use it over Assaulter 2 that’s why. Also, some of the Assaulter/Machine Gunner premium squads comes with these trash starter perks as well, which makes them less useful than they should be.

Well, that’s why i put up the poll and made the post.

Agreed, I think a run speed might be interesting alternative. Obviously I would rather stacked sprint speed, but an increased strafe speed could be useful as I’m pretty sure you could stack an additional run perk if you wanted to.

What do assaulter 2’s come with? It’s been so long since I looked at them. I think 1’s used to come with climbing speed right? Did they give it to 2’s?

AFAIK, the run speed perk does not stack with the crouch/strafe movement speed perk. But ofc, you can stack both run speed and sprint speed perks.

Yes I know, I meant strafing while you’re standing up, not crouching.

Run increases your “walk speed” to my knowledge, so it should make you strafe faster while your up.

Or is it only when you’re not aiming?

Probably should, i think. But most of time, i’m crouched while strafing and using the +60% movement speed while crouched perk, i rarely strafe while in standing position, because it is actually A LOT slower than strafing while crouched so i can’t be sure of this.

Lol yeah was about to say this. Crab walking with this is insanely fast comparatively.

What would you suggest the starter perk be? I don’t think I saw you give one. Unless you said it in the original post. I’ve always been bad at reading it all.

I suggested :

Assaulter 3
“100% health restored by medpack” → “5.3% faster sprint speed”

Machine Gunner 3
“100% health restored by medpack” → “-10% firearm horizontal recoil”

Assaulter 1 has 35% faster climb speed(Not that good, but Assaulter 1 is a legacy class so it doesn’t really matter i think) as its starter perk, Assaulter 2 has 35% more stamina as its starter perk.

I mentioned im playing for a long time because you said “you, as well, thought that med speed is good when starting” - im not starting, read with comprehension.

I am perfectly capable of that, you should try it as well.
