I think an axe is a better fit for this character. However, an axe is significantly inferior to a sword in terms of stats, so an improved axe is needed.

idk Russia and Japs could use some unique swordlike items. But I dont know if they will spend time on that at this point.
Fit them.with a wet kipper! But as the last poster said, they aint gonna waste time on it if the dont have to… and no wet kippers xxx
I think those weapons were added for the sake of just unique looks, as every character has decorated pistols and melees
But I agree, beards and axes are a good fit

I would have wanted to give him machete so he can be like Reznov in that flag raising part during WaW berlin mission
