Why not?
Although it will be harder for beginners.
If the Schmeisser MP-40 submachine gun didn’t work, why not use a 32-round magazine version of the Hugo-designed MP-28 submachine gun? Because in Manchukuo, this gun wouldn’t arouse suspicion from the Japanese army.
This is literally exclusive to the premium squad. And a very old one at that. They don’t even put it back on sale. At least the MP-40 is in the TT, and the premium squad has it’s separate partisan modification.
Isn’t it normal to use special weapons in special modes? Are you planning to have Soviet saboteurs infiltrate Manchuria with MP-40 submachine guns, only to be shot dead on the front lines by Japanese soldiers with Type 100 submachine guns?
Given the historical record of both Japanese and Chinese armies using MP-18 and MP-28 submachine guns in the Far East, equipping the Soviet saboteurs with 32-round MP-28 magazines was absolutely the right move.
Yes, that’s a good solution. But it’s less likely on the developers’ part. They can’t just hand out premium legacy weapons in the event.
If this is a limited-time event, then it doesn’t matter whether this weapon should be a limited-edition item for sale; after all, accurately recreating the history of World War II is the right choice.
Overall, issuing only one weapon for concealment to soldiers facing two factions is rather foolish. A Japanese soldier with a Thompson submachine gun will arouse no less suspicion in the Soviet rear, especially with a model the Soviets never had in the game. Just as the Type 100 bears little resemblance to any German submachine gun, not to mention the PPSh in the American rear. A Soviet saboteur will be equipped with a weapon for concealment in the German rear. And in the German rear, an MP-40 will be much more concealable.
But the best thing, of course, is to make this weapon transform depending on the faction the saboteur is facing.
But I don’t think the developers will want to deal with this.
By the way, this could be a great addition to one of my old ideas.
