Remove the prone/bipod requirement from the Solothurn AT rifle

No other AT rifle has such a stupid restriction on it, not even the Type 97 AT rifle, which is HEAVIER THAN THE SOLOTHURN.

AT rifles are not even a good choice for destroying tanks anyway, a launcher will always be better in every scenario. Even at BR 1 you’re better off just shooting the tracks off of a tank and throwing explosives at it.

By removing the bipod/prone restrictions on the solothurn AT rifle, it would keep it consistent with every other AT rifle in the game and make it more convenient/less annoying to use. It wouldn’t make the solothurn overpowered, it would just make a rare BP weapon not be frustrating to use.

only if the function still remains in game for modders to use

Leave solothurn alone and give the prone/bipod requirement for the type-97 AT rifle

At least I tried

throw in the PTRS and PTRD because why not

I wouldn’t mind if they lost the ability to aim while off-hand, or at least had a stamina drain when aiming.

But we shouldn’t completely deprive them of the ability to shoot off-hand.

I remember playing the first Red Orchestra and you could only fire the AT rifle if you mounted it onto a wall or laid on the ground. I think you only had the PTRD, though.

Hell no, make ALL AT Rifles require Prone and Bipod.

Solothurn, Type 97 Should be prone on ground with Bipod ONLY to be able to fire.
The Soviet PTRS and early german ones should be able to fire from crouched positions when bipod on windows, walls, etc.
This Game needs and is centered around realism.
runnning around with 20kg AT Rifles is not realistic and, look dumb asf, It take away from other rifles, cause why run around with a Mosin Rifle when you can rambo with a AT Rifle.
Shit idea.
If you want to be able to run around shooting freely standing running with AT Rifles, play Fortnite, that kind of CoD fortnite gameplay doesn’t belong in this game.

that’s how it should be done

I’ve never had any problems using a Solothurn in combat, even on 2BR, in cases where you can use any other anti-tank, you can always use a Solothurn, besides, this one penetrates a lot of armor, and has a large magazine, and, most importantly, it’s nice to shoot it.

But I will not leave any wishes or requirements regarding it, I can only say that the inability to use it effectively is only the player’s fault, not his peculiarity.

thats stupid, there’s like a hundred other WW2 games that focus on realism

You should notice how I never claimed the solothurn was bad or impossible to use. I only claimed the bipod restriction makes it less convenient to use.

Something to germans…

Mechanics like this add immersion and diversify gameplay. The AT Rifle is a support weapon so it should feel like it. I always roll my eyes when everyone is running around waving MG 42s like they’re submachine guns (Personally I primarily prone and bipod MGs to provide fire support because THATS ITS JOB)

I’d say mechanics like this should be expanded

This game already has realistic armor mechanics in the first place

Only insofar as it is forever getting further and further away from it.

Enlisted initially tried to be a realistic game, too. It’s a matter of opinion, but to me, all these arcade-like mechanics to a “near-realistic” skeleton feel unnatural. It’s as if the game is trying to be something it’s not.

And what does realism have to do with it? The whole topic about gigantic anti-tank rifle thing. It just ruins the immersion when soldiers are running and jumping with 40-kg shooting clubs. The game stops being a WWII shooter and turns into a superhero MOBA.

And yes, I like soloturn in its current form. Maybe we should just make soloturn more convenient. For example, like light machine guns in CoD-UO or mortars in our game.

What’s your problem?
