An aerial gunnery trainee posing with a long-barreled Remington Model 11 fixed with a Cutts compensator, raised aerial sights, and a chassis that simulates an aircraft machine gun mount..
The Remington Model 11 was set up on an aerial training mount to simulate the gun mounts used by aircraft machine gunners during World War II. This setup allowed trainees to practice shooting at moving targets, which was crucial for aerial gunnery training. The Model 11 was often modified with a Cutt’s compensator and raised aerial sights to enhance the training experience. The use of the Model 11 in aerial training was a significant aspect of preparing soldiers for combat, as it helped them develop the skills necessary to engage with enemy aircraft effectively.
Two Remington Model 11 shotguns mounted into a mock-up twin dorsal turret. This is meant to simulate the dorsal turrets used on many American medium and heavy bombers during World War II, including the B-17 and B-24. The use of 12-ga. shotguns instead of .50-cal AN/M2 machine guns also eliminated the worry of errant rounds in the air during training.

Unlike a lot of games the shotgun does not have a lethal range shorter than a dagger. I think it would be funny to see a mounted shotgun in the game with even more range. If it would be a buildable and immobile like the mg next or buildable and mobile like the at gun. would it have a bigger tube magazine or be somehow modified to use a magazine. America being the shotgun faction it would be cool to give them a mounted shotgun.

A Remington Model 11 set up on an aerial training mount in the bed of a truck. The truck would drive down a course as the trainee engaged targets.
