The current Battle Rating 3 situation is one of the most pressing issues regarding the matchmaking experience in Enlisted. Players choosing Tier 3 frequently face end game gear in high tier matches, while players attempting to enjoy Tier 2 are heavily disadvantaged by the presence of Tier 3 equipment. The standard solution of creating separate queues for each tier is often dismissed due to concerns about player base fragmentation and queue times.
A more practical approach would be to restructure the existing match groups and redistribute the current Tier 3 weapons based on their actual performance.
The matchmaking could be organized into three distinct groups. The first group would consist solely of Tier 1 weapons to create an isolated environment for new players. This sandbox would feature bolt action rifles and starter equipment, ensuring beginners are not immediately exposed to automatic weapons.
The second group would combine Tier 2 weapons with the average equipment from the current Tier 3. This would form a balanced mid tier match group where standard semi automatic rifles, silenced submachine guns, and basic box magazine weapons can be utilized effectively without encountering high tier heavy vehicles or advanced weaponry.
The third group would comprise the remaining Tier 4 and Tier 5 weapons.
For this system to function properly, the mid tier weapons that struggle against Tier 5 armor and infantry should move down to Tier 2. Implementing this change would protect the new player experience in the starter sandbox and make iconic mid war equipment viable again by removing them from late war environments.
