That’s what Im getting at… the rof isn’t as fast to fire 10 rounds from the Arisaka, the lee can shoot off 10 then reload whereas you need to reload the Arisaka more often which “eats into the rof”. However I do think that having a unique “mad minute” for the Lee and or SMLE would be fun where you could cycle the bolt faster with your thumb and index finger available with the bolt action perk possibly activated like an alternate fire mode.
Agreed, I have long wanted a “mad minute” thing for the SMLE, or at least for it it have its ROF increased. As for the whole ROF reload thing I 100% agree. However you are failing to take into acount the fact the the Type 38 is BR1 compared to the SMLEs BR2! It should have a lower rate of fire and reload. You also fail to take into acount Japans BR2 bolt action rifle which has a lower ROF than the type 38 but also has the same mag capacity of 5. So if you dont want the type 38 to get its ROF reduced than it should go up to BR2. (hmm, I will sdd that to the poll, despite everyone hating the idea(NUTS! I cant!) I partly want it changed so I can justify using Japans BR2 bolt action which I cant at the moment. (same with the Vickers-Berthier, I dont want to use it but its BS no movement dispersion penalty forces me to.)
I would argue that the Type 1 is just bad though (sights are nice though) the type 99 (even better sights if its the one I’m thinking of) and other ones I cant remember the names of, they have nice sights which is a reason to use them in and of itself. As for it being Br 1 yeah I get it but Japan doesn’t get the biggest toy box to choose from so letting them have a good rifle and some other stuff is fine by me and I’m a US main. Personally I find the type 38’s sights ok but harder to use on long range because the front sight is a bit chunky like the Garand which isn’t always good and sometimes the rear sights trick me into thinking their the front sight when I’m in a hurry, whereas the 1903a1 USMC has
sights and I can hit stuff at most ranges. (Basically I prefer the sights on the BR 2 stuff) Also the lower rof and better sights means you don’t speed up too much (and get the bogas dispersion penalty) helping you actually hit stuff. As for the Bertier I will again out myself and say I think it’s ugly and so is the 1918a2, my pick is the 1918a1 because It is the iconic BAR it looks nice and so are the open sights, dispersion and recoil be dammed. Unless you want to do micro managing of stats I see no point in picking something you don’t like, I’d rather have stuff I actually like using that does the job. If you don’t want to use the Berthier just don’t, having good soldier and perks will often make up for poor recoil. As for dispersion well tis not that bad on the Bren compared with the 2004 BF Vietnam M-60 that thing has a literal to whom it may concern fire cone. If you aren’t too worried about stats then a whole world of possibility open up… not always practical but I find it more fun.
Apologies this was far too long but it is what it is.
yah, me to bud but with how run and gun the game is the 0 MDP is too good to pass up.
? Its the most niche of the three though. The other 2 saw widespread srvice. The A1 was the only one that didnt.
It looks the most iconic the A2 has the plastic stock from the late war. (thanks good to know)
Also japan gets the A2 with a wooden stock which looks great (great squad too), which good for them but on a micro level it reminds me of the M3 half track situation.
Yah, I have way to much WW2 firearms trivia for my own good. Personaly I feel that the bipod being in the middle of barrel ruins the look but to each their own.
yep barrel mounted bi-pod will do wonders for the barrel harmonics too. Would be nice to be able to take off the bi-pod and carry handle if not saving weight just for the clean look.
It makes up for the fact that their vehicles are shit at BR1
Not as fast as this one but there are some other BR 1 bolt-action rifles that are almost as fast as this one.
Springfield M1903A3 for example, has 69 RoF with a x8 scope. It’s honestly, BR 2 sniper rifle but for some reason sitting on BR 1 still and i think it should swap the BR with Springfield M1903A4 instead but it is what it is.
Normally I support suggestions but here I will say this.
While your argument is likely true in regards to stats, I cant say the Arisaka has struck me as OP.
Now admittedly I havent played BR I in AGES.
The Springfield and P14 Enfield SUCK. The Springfield sight is good but the cycling of the bolt, well, I might as well have a musket.
So in that respect yes the Japanese rifle is somewhat annoying but more that the Yank one is terrible rather than Japanese being OP.
Certainly by BR II Im fine with it, as others have said it doesnt have the same mechanic as Lee Enfield, Ross or Mannlicher where you can stay on aim,
I also personally dont like the Arisaka sight, I find it difficult to use being too ‘low’ relative to the rear sight. (maybe thats just me idk).
I tend to use the Type I for a finer sight for good iron sight sniping.
I actually recently got rid of my Type 4s in favour of Arisaka cause its a great ROF bolt action.
I think game priority should be making some Soviet rifles and the Springfield actually reload after each shot instead of having a 2 hour long lunch break between shots.
Literally the only useable Soviet rifle is the M91 Dragoon [excluding the Winchester which is lever action and the Type 88 which is Chinese].
I actually find it interesting Japan is allowed a 50 round MP28 that just keeps shooting and shooting, no other faction has that level of firepower at BR I/II. Not Germany, which invented the MP28, nor the Allies whom a Bren gun and BAR together are required to match the amount of firepower.
(yes the MP28 has a slower ROF but as I say thats fine cause its practically a machine gun at that point with 50 rounds).
My overall point being, there are other problems in game worth addressing over this and I dont really see it as a problem.
Thats very missleading, snipers almost always have a higher ROF. Also the very slow reload and fact that you can only equip it on snipers pretty much remove it from this debate. Who is going to use a 5 man sniper squad just for an extra 7 ROF (that you can only equip on three of them)? The Type 38 can be equiped on every single dude.
But you are right, the M1904A4 needs to move down. They did it with a bunch of other BR2 sinper but skiped that one for some reason.
Funny, I actualy had a topic I was going to post on this because like you said its basicly the same gun as the lanchester 50 and the MP28 but one BR lower. I eventualy decided against it after playing it and finding out that the lower ROF and slow reload do actualy make a big difrence. The browning auto-5 on the other hand…
Its not just the yank one but every BR1 bolt action in the game. Like I said the highest one gets beside this one is 62RPM. It makes no senes for this one to have 10RPM higher for some reason.(like I said even higher than most BR2 bolt actions which is BS)
that “reason” is because the damage on it sucks compared to most bolt action rifles and you will often need 2 shots to take someone out at longer ranges, especially if they have vitality and/or body armor
Yeah, nerf the only minimal advantage Japan has, while keeping Allied Lee Enfield with no ADS time, Soviet body armor, etc, so those pesky Japan players will eventually disappear for good.
In my opinion, the Arisakas at BR 1–2 are the most accurate rifles of all the ones available.
I would like the accuracy of all bolt-action rifles in BR 1–2 to be reworked—specifically, lowering the accuracy of the Arisaka to match that of the other bolt-action rifles so they are all the same.
None of the BR 1 sniper rifle got this much of fast RoF tho. Especially the BR 1 japanese one which is… not that good last i checked.
Not that slow. It’s roughly 5.5 seconds to reload(3.5 secs on the stat card but apparently that’s not the actual reload speed) but Sniper 3 comes with 4.8% base reload speed along with 22 weapon handling perk stats which means that Sniper 3 can stack up to 16.8% reload speed along with +12% faster bolt-action firing rate perks. This matters a lot.
This matters yes but i’d argue that matters less on BR 1. I think it’s the only BR where Sniper squad can be actually useful for once as everyone running around with bolty and SMG are not that oppressed as it does on BR 2- BR3.
Me.
But the scope actually helps a lot compared to the regular bolty for real. But yea, Type 38 Arisaka is one of the best bolty on BR 1(The reason i’m saying it’s one of the best, not THE best BR 1 bolt-action in the game is because there are some worthy contenders for this title. Carcano Mod. 38 is unironically really good on BR 1, and the extra 1 round per clip compared to other 5 rnds bolty helps a lot actually)
there is no vote option, so I won’t do anything than just comment here if it where for me I vote no, they are other weapons with huge rate of fire from other factions too ^^
I guess the first option is “No” since it would mean to retain the current RoF. ![]()
Do you even play the game? It has more than enough damage to one shot vitality with bodey armor at 100M. You almost never have engagements beyond that.
