The ANM2 box magazine impossibly holds 200 rounds despite having a 100rnd box. This makes no sense at all and should be reduced to 100 as its model depicts. Because having 100 bullets loaded from the void is ridiculous.
In return the ANM2 stinger should gain 100 or 200 rounds of reserve ammo without needing an ammo bag
The Stinger can accept the same 100 and 200 round boxes as the normal unmodified aircraft version can.
When the Stinger guns were first being built and tested, the marines tried using both kinds of boxes.
What happened was that the 200 box made the guns unuseable as the very thing they was designed to be, a mobile weapons platform. It became too heavy to carry between position, and the massive offset balance (because that’s 200 rounds of ammunition hanging off to one side) made it extremely hard to control. It was decided that only 100 round boxes should be used.
They were never carried into action with 200 round boxes.
It was only used with a 100 round box, I would like to use this gun in the way that the people of the past intended.
sure just make any other mg 75 rounds hip fired and 100 round prone fired or force it to mantle like in real life,
the stinger was special because it could be used as a mobile weapon and not from a fixed position, -both us and germany-
you can only nerf the stinger if you nerf everything else
the stinger was op at launch, nerf its mag and no one else and you get a weapon that is no longer special
or just nerf the stinger and move it to br4
They can lower the mag size to 100, reduce weight, reduce horizontal recoil a bit, reduce RPM a bit and add a front sight post, because the original ones did have front sight posts.
Those 200-250 round boxes are huge, one fully loaded could weight close to 10 KGs.
We are talking about those big green boxes from mounted MGs - like those we all know from Jeeps and top mounted tank MGs.
The US Marines that actually used the Stinger, deliberately cut those 200 round boxes in half and turned them into 100 round boxes - as visually correctly depicted in the game, 200 rounds of 30-06 is way too heavy for infantry usage.
I have five M2 Stingers but use none as I still prefer the Browning 1919 A6. However, the M2 Stinger was available with a 200 round magazine, even if the Marines chose not to use the 200 round mags on the ground. So, by Gaijin’s standards, since it can come with a 200 round magazine, it 100% qualifies to be used in the 200 round capacity.
Since I don’t use it, I really don’t care either way, however, precedence already set by Gaijin makes it a valid weapon in its current form. Just my two cents worth.
