Hello again! My last post for today will be a simple one tbh.
While making a lineup themed around the invasion of France I noticed that the Me B-1 is currently at BR V while having a suuuper lackluster loadout compared to it’s much more effective brother, the A-1/U2 that’s at BR IV currently
It has 2x 250kg bombs while only having 2x 13mm mgs and 2x 20mm cannons, checking the wiki, it is capable of carrying 2x 500kg bombs, so my suggestions would be:
Keep as is (Lower to BR IV)
Swap ordnance to 2x 500kg bombs (Lower to BR IV)
Swap ordnance to 2x 500kg bombs (Keep at BR V)
0voters
I put both options to either lower its BR or keep it while changing the bombs, as some people may believe it to be fine where it is, but we’ll see, imo increasing the ordnance and lowering the BR would be the way to go, as it’s performance will be affected and when it has no load the armament is nothing amazing tbh, while being suuuper stiff to fly either way haha.
While we’re at it, the A-1/U2 we currently have in game has as skin more reflective of the standard A-1 instead of the Zerstörer/Night Fighter U2 variant that’s currently in WT, so if possible I’d love to see it changed or at least added into a future battle pass, it looks neat haha.
They did, at least it was evidently the case with FW-190s that could carry both a bomb/fuel tank and rockets at the same time.
It would be pretty dumb to leave the bomb bay of the Me 410 empty, wouldnt it? So yes it was most likely used that way, but historically the Luftwaffe did prefer bombs over rockets.
Well yeah, the Fw could have the rockets and the drop tank, but as far as I could find, when the 410s were carrying rockets the bomb-bays were filled with the 2 extra 20mm cannons, so it was not possible to carry bombs and rockets for the U2 configs
Exactly this, the U2s were used as Night fighters/Zerstörers so no need for bombs, although rockets seemed to be useful for bomber formations apparently, must’ve been wild to see
if we assume that it was always the case, which was probably not, if FW-190 was used in dual configuration than Me-410 was most likely used as well.
We just dont have much pictures on those since Germans seldom used rockets for ground support.
Fuel tanks yes - bombs - not that I’m aware of, since the rockets would be usually being used for bomber interception so carrying bombs would be pointless.
We know they carried extra 20mm cannon for bomber interception, and have no information what they carried or even if they were used for ground attack
“most likely used that way” is nothing more than wishful thinking and a non-sequitur - a false conclusion not supported by the premise at all.
