The Me 410 B-1 is a BR5 attacker plane, and is inadequate at the BR, and is better suited for lower BR and could use an upgrade. It has to go against other attackers with much heavier payloads and generally better performance, such as the TU-2 and P47 (and soon the B25 and the one new US premium bomber). Only two 250kg bombs is terrible for a high BR attacker when litteral fighters on BR3 have the same payload, so upgrading the bombs to 500kg would make it better. At BR4, it would compete with the IL8, A20, and Beaufighter, where it would be more even. The flight performance of these would be similar or better, have guns from slightly weaker to slightly stronger, and equivilant or different styles of payload, but would be fairly balanced against each other.
The same payload that’s the same of literal fighters on BR3? And besides, the BF 110 C7 and F2 already have the same payload, generally better performance, and on BR3. If it only has two 250kg bombs, there isn’t really any point to using it with how slow the turn speed is. The IL8 has two 500kg bombs and flies better, and is BR4. This should get the 500kg bombs.
In a way, this aircraft and the Il-10 are both relics from the Berlin campaign era. Their loadouts used to be quite balanced—just two 250kg bombs. But looking at it now, newer aircraft are becoming increasingly powerful and overperforming. Back then, these two planes were considered excellent in terms of strength, as carrying a maximum of two 250kg bombs was the norm. Now, they’re hardly impressive when planes casually carry 500kg or even heavier loads.
If you ask me, instead of overanalyzing them, just drop these two aircraft to BR 3. Germany, after all, lacks a good attacker at BR 3 since the Bf 110 G2 was bumped up to BR 4. Take a look at the latest Japanese BR 3 aircraft—it can already carry two 250kg bombs, which is far more capable compared to what Germany and the Soviet Union have at that tier.
Well, you’re really lucky! A developer assistant actually replied under your post, even though it’s from June and basically considered buried by now. What we can do now is try to get more people to see and remember this post. After all, to get suggestions implemented, we need to gather more support, comments, and attention. But then again, just like that Japanese shotgun with a bayonet — how long has it been since it was last suggested? That’s beyond our control. We can only wait, hoping that one day an update will suddenly focus on those overlooked or “excess” vehicles from Germany and the Soviet Union, especially those related to German campaigns and the Battle of Stalingrad.
By the way, do you think the BF 110 G2 with four rockets can still stay at BR 3?
My issue wasn’t so much that it got moved to BR 4, I said nothing when they first announced it. My issues was that It got moved while equally devasting planes (but in different ways) get a pass to stay in lower BRs.
There are many sides, Ground players and mains hated it, Axis mains loved it. I come at it from all sides, as I fly it, fly against it, and foot slog while its around.
I care more about the matchups than the BR, and there are really obvious mistakes in BRs such as the Spitfire Mk IX and the XA-38
BR ±0 MUST happen to make BR IV a decent home
there are still many planes matched up wrong, when their counterparts are elsewhere in the BR lineup
Well it exist, event FG42 GL have FG42’s 900 rof and 70% of it’s recoil, the GL is nerfed to hell tho
There’s no powercreep on IL-8 (at least not much)
A-20 with 4*500lb is already in BRIV, and IL-8 flyies slower and lower than it
And if you think IL-8 is a powercreep, adding a plane that flyies 100kmh faster than A-20 in TT isn’t more powercreeped?
FYI that speed number in @euthys spreadsheet isn’t the planes achievable speed. I dont really know what it is referring to (could be wing rip), or speed at optimum altitude. In either case its not reliable infomation.
Just like it says the Fw190-A8 is as fast as the P-51 mustang, it is no where near. (A-8 is infact 60-70kmh slower in a straight line)
In practice, straight and level, full throttle as hitting the edge of the map
il8 was a mistake and never should of introduced 1k bombs into br4 to begin with. Germany loves to point the finger at russia meanwhile they already dominate the u.s. TT in br4 and 5
Its a high performance Turnfighter that is more than the rival of the G.55, G-10, G-14, K-4, and La-7. All of which are BR 4-5, Half of which have “no bombs”. (it actually dumps on them in the low Altitude arena that is Enlisted…and easily scraps with the Japanese BR 4/5 planes too)
Its poor placement
What they should have done was add 2x250lb bombs to the spitfire Mk Vs (2 cannon version BR 2, 4 cannon version BR 3), Upgrade the bomb to a 500lb bomb on the spitfire Mk IX and move it to BR 3/4 (4 is the most appropriate in a BR ±0 World)
then all of the aforementioned planes should be adjusted to accordingly as well as adding bombs.
This should be changed. All fighters should have their payload. G14, g10 dont have bombs because they get gun pods though. Fiat has twice the payload of spitfire and should be brought to br3.
