I think a couple of Thompsons in the West Allies Research tree could use some balancing, while looking over the stats it made me question why the guns are left in the state it’s in, I will show the balance changes based on br.
Note: the weapon stats will be discussed will be talked about its maxed out stats.

I think the M1A1 Thompson is over-tuned for br2 so it should be moved back to br3, but with some buffs the gun needed.

The M1 Thompson for being a Br4 gun was oddly weak in some angles compared to its counterparts like the M21/28, or even the M1928A1 (50) so I buff its stats to be more competitive to its counterparts.

The Thompson 7.63 is very similar to the Zk-383 and better in certain aspects, I think it should be a br3 gun when it easily competes against the ZK-383, no further changes I see is needed for it.

The Shichuan Thompson (SHT for short) is way to good at br3, I think it was obvious when the stat card for the ShT dropped day one, so I made some heavy nerfs that it should’ve seen.

Also those wondering why I didn’t touch certain ones, it’s due to the fact that some of the changes would be unneeded, and or is in a good place as is.

I’d never heard of him before but his channel seems pretty neat and it has a pretty cool aesthetic to his videos. I’ll make sure to check him out more sometime.

I agree with all this except for buffing the M1 and peaving it on BR4, I’d rather it be moved to BR3, since even with buffs I think it would be a bit worse than the M1921/28 and 1928 drum mag. It definitely needs some improvement though.

But that wouldn’t really be the case though. The 21/28’s dispersion is 0.58 which would, even after the dispersion buff to the M1, still be lower by a little bit. The recoil of the M1 compared to the 21/28 to begin with was quite obvious, and it would get worse horizontal recoil as well? Repoad buff would help, but the 1921/28 would still be half a second faster. I really don’t see how this proposed change would make it viable over the 21/28.
Well first both have very controllable recoil but the M1 would be more accurate than the M21/28 and would have a higher rate of fire than the M21/28 which would prove to be better than the M21/28

No I do not but as a person that picked up this weapon time to time and have to face it, as too a person who’s favorite weapon is the ZK-383, they play practically the same way so again how come this gun is br2 when it’s stats are competing against the ZK-383?

Yes. And am quite frequently underwhelmed at how much damage it does even in cqc.
You can compare the stats and base it off your one off usage when picking it up but it doesn’t compare to constant usage which yes it does perform above average when you look at others but it’s just generally an enjoyable weapon… it has low recoil and relatively fast fire rate which makes up for its damage but my personal experience which is consistent… i ran it in my BR3 lineup and eventually replaced it with the 1928 USMC squad.
And actually speaking of the sichuan thompson… to claim it’s overpowered in br3 when the ppsh box is infinitely better is absolutely wild
However yes as usual with soviet smgs its dispersion seems to be unusually low… i think you should instead value that and how it makes an smg more comfortable to use instead of trying to make stuff people spent time unlocking just worse as despite them apparently nerfing it ppsh box still has no dispersion.
The PPSH-41 box has a dispersion of .70 I want to remind you that it has a dispersion of .25 if you didn’t know to clarify lower number means tighter spread this spread is 2.8x more tighter than the PPSH-41 box and the recoil is so low you don’t even need recoil perks for it. Yet it’s bad totally
And it blows its other Thompsons put of the water in these stats alone when ever the spread sheet get updated we’ll know the extent of how busted this thing is
