Degtyarev submachine gun No. 149 CF is one of the unique samples
At the beginning of the war, there was a significant shortage of small arms and various types of ammunition on the Northern and later on the Karelian front. The stocks in the warehouses were depleted already in the first months of the war. In this regard, in the rear of the Karelian front, the process of manufacturing weapons at local production began to be established. One such example of local production was the Karelo-Finnish submachine gun (KF) which was produced at the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill, which was converted to military rails for the needs of Victory.
The submachine gun was produced semi-artistically, and there was simply not enough necessary equipment in the form of various machines and resources. During the whole of 1942, with great difficulty, it was possible to produce no more than a few hundred units.
By design, the KF is an extremely simplified Degtyarev submachine gun with a wooden bed, reminiscent of the Finnish Suomi submachine gun. Wooden beds were also produced by the Belomorsky sawmill and woodworking plant.
the design, the drawings of which were found in TsAMO, when compared with other samples, is characterized as a simplified Finnish “Suomi”. So, its a son in a PPD/Suomi family. Can be close to a PPD-44 which is at BR 3. But not in premium squad, better be even weapon.
