The only groups that lack dedicated, overtly biased, and annoying mains are Italy and the Commonwealth… Perhaps because we’re way more interested in getting any form of representation to begin with… I would also argue the gentlemanly and sporting dispission of any Commonwealth advocate is also a factor.
It’s just not fun if the enemy doesn’t shoot back, after all.
That is why British empire falls - because of folks like this mind. Fun fact - even in american/English prisoner camps held by japs Americans were really angry about arrogant and swaggering you know who
I have not been studying years of colonial history, in order to arrive at the conclusion that the British Empire fell because they were “too gentlemanly”.
I’d happily discuss the history on the subject in a seperate thread, to avoid off-topic discussions, but I doubt you’re actually informed enough to participate in that topic. In the same way that I would not be informed enough to participate about a discussions about rural Russian life in the 1930s.
Also, I doubt the Empire was run by a great number of larping Swedes, to begin with…
A gross simplification of the topic… I’m not surprised.
Leaving out that no one wants to hear the American perspective on European matters (a time-honoured tradition older than the internet)… Americans came from a more informal and egalitatian culture compared to the rest of the world at the time, meanwhile the Commonwealth had a greater focus on Officer seperation and professionalism, with a clear class-based hierarchy (the US had no such thing as nobility, meanwhile the British had literal knighted men as officers).
Indeed, US soldiers were universally schooled in how to properly interact with their allies before they were deployed in theatre, we have pleanty of material on how this education looked on the topic of the British alone, and US leadership were very adamant to point out that the Brits were “different” and US personnel would have to accommodate these differences as good guests, but not out of a sense of criticism.
If you won’t accept that the topic has wide and varied nuances, you’re not interested in having a honest dicussion, you just want to point fingers and humiliate, which is exactly why everyone treats you as the red parrot you are.
