As the title states, the RPK1943 only has a 15-round magazine, 13.2 damage, and 27 recoil when shooting. If you shoot while moving, this recoil becomes even more exaggerated.
In contrast, the Lewis assault-phase rifle of the same level has a 20-round magazine, 14.4 shooting damage,20 recoil spread, weighs 5.9 kg, and its only downside is a rate of fire that is 60 less than the RPK 1943.
There are 3 upgrade options:
Increase damage to 14.4
Increase magazine capacity (historically there was only a 20-round version)
Improve shooting spread, reducing it to a spread of 20
Do you suggest strengthening the RPK-1943?
20 round mag for RPK-43 exist. @Декард already found it.
Report of the GAU commission dated June 26, 1944, presented at the Kalashnikov Museum, and photographs of the mach:
The Lewis assault rifle is currently bugged (it has semi auto rifle upgrades not mg upgrades) and it will be fixed according to the devs. So don’t use it as an example to buff other weapons until it has it’s stats corrected.
The RPK 1943 definitely needs a bigger magazine, 20 rounds was an option, although not adopted due to feeding problems, but, it was an option and in Gaijin’s world, that’s good enough . It could use some vertical recoil reduction, however IMOP the magazine size increase is the most pressing issue. I am fine with its current ROF and hitting power.
That’s cuz the stats are bugged
It will look like this when it’s fixed, so you can’t exactly ask for buffs based on a gun that the faction doesn’t fight and that is additionally bugged
Hit power on upgrade mgs only goes up by 10% not 20%, so the Lewis assault rifle will have it’s damage reduced by 10% and it will have more recoil when it gets it’s proper upgrades.
At least it can have 20 rounds. I found info about at least in two places - directly in Kalashnikov museum in Ijevsk and in some open source docs. It use AVS experimental mags which photo I post earlyer
This gun really needs to be reexamined and enhanced. Well, how to put it? When he first appeared, it was the environment that shaped him. I bought four of them. That was because at that time, this Medson Swiss machine gun was extremely bad. So bad that I basically treated it as a close-range weapon. But now it has been repaired to some extent. Now this gun can be considered usable, but compared to other countries’ machine guns, it is not that good. But at least it has 10 more bullets than the Rpk, which can effectively suppress the enemy. I started using it again. Now I realize that historically, the magazine capacity was 20 bullets. Well, I really hope to see it enhanced like this. Then I would have a new reason to pick it up. Now I feel that he looks like an SVT38 semi-automatic. But from now on, it seems outdated.
With more and more clutter filling the crates these days, it’s getting increasingly harder for new players to pull this item. That’s why most of those who can afford to sponsor it are veterans who bought it before. I got this because the Madsen was absolutely terrible back then—but now that the Madsen has been buffed, this one deserves a boost too. At the very least, its magazine capacity should be increased to match that of the Madsen. Otherwise, what’s the point of it being a gold-tier weapon? A toy? I’m not some masochist who’d buy a Liberator just to torture myself. Its magazine should be bumped up to around 25 rounds.
