Plane Timers

That’s why I say that I don’t know what the logic should be. I’m well compensated to solve more difficult problems for my company. Someone should be capable of sorting this out.

I wouldn’t want anything draconian, but something would be better than nothing… In my opinion.

I think in this part you are only accounting for those that are actively trying to make attack passes and such.

All too often I see that players aren’t even doing THAT. Their practice and such is literally just flying circles trying to figure out their controls! Often they are there ALL GAME LONG without a single kill.

THAT is the primary issue i seek to solve.

Well if I might give my 2 cents on this:
I am not a big fan of such restrictions. When such tasks are on the table, everyone tries to achieve them. That includes newbies that usually don’t fly.
The first thing I would try to do, is to stay in the air, getting to know how it works. Play the role safely, try to bomb something but at safe distances.
For you it looks he does nothing, yea. @_WARHEAD said it. There shouldn’t be a punishment for this one.
I witness so many pilots bombing the wrong side of the map or drop them bombs way too late.
Obviously one could argue: Use the practice mode for that. And I would agree. But yet, task is on the table to get some candies.

Problem with this … Vote kicking never works in most games unless its like 5 people that and the amount of player bots would kill that.

Yes that works mine was more crude. I think allowing it as a kill streak would be cool, ending your run without crashing should net extra points too like warthunder.

I mean then they just get kicked out no big deal they come back and keep doing it until they are good enough with it. The main reason I want players to not be able to use it forever is I had a match where he hogged the plane and afked the entire match. I asked “hey XXXX what are you doing” his response was “Idk just flying around” 10 minutes of flying in a circle and had 0 kills. We were getting HAMMERED by a tank in the back of the map and I don’t have enough crew slots for a tank.

That escalated quickly its like calling common sense gun laws banning all guns. No I personally carry 90% of my matches, I can go with half my team being noobs but if they hog the plane THE ONLY THING that can take out the camping tiger 2 in their spawn, I will be extremely angry.

That’s some bull if he is the sole reason we cant take out that one tank I will be LIVID. I’ve had matches where the plane will just fly in a circle not allowing one the most valuable resources to be used. We need SOMETHING I don’t care what it is.

Sorta my point. You start down that road thats the next thing. Same principle.

Kick pilots for being useless into kick tanks for being useless into kick useless for being useless… into useless out number the good and unite to kick the good so they can play lol

Once again its locking resources if you read what I said. Tanks arent any where near as useful as planes quick deployment of explosives able to destroy tanks or fortifications. Nobody said anything about players. I don’t think kicking is the option but I did like the timer or efficiency thing where if they aren’t efficient enough their plane burns out. Did you play battlefront where the heroes health went down they could do that.
Why are you SO fixated on the kicking part suggest something better then. You are shooting down one of three ideas.

Just a discussion and offering my opinion. Not in a position to shoot anything down, just expressing why i dont think some of the methods are a good idea. Sorry i had answered all 3 as to why. Recaps

Kicking as above
Efficiency - the rich get richer
Score based - the rich get richer
Timer - was unclear if you meant global time or player specific timer

Now, while those methods will only benefit me, the majority it will not

Timer would be player specific I believe you get in the plane and have 3 minutes to do what you need to. I believe efficiency would benefit everyone as long as you make it so they cant infinitely stack time like only a max of 5 minutes or something so one guy doesn’t just use it the entire match. Score based being the same way.
Having SOME WAY of auto kicking out of the plane would be fantastic I would limit guys who are just nuking your team and the guy doing nothing. I’ve played 5 matches in a row where this has happened 4 of them the guy did nothing.

Im all for a timer or lockout to prevent vehicle cycling. Just not to forcibly remove someone currently using it. Thats the other teams job

Like CRSED, the first use of skills is free, and points are required thereafter.

This way everyone gets a chance, at least once, and more capable players use it more times, which is very fair.

In case you (or anyone else reading this) didn’t know,

you actually get some extra points and the squad comes back faster (requiring only one other squad between spawns instead of two), for successfully landing and exiting the plane.

The issue that I have with putting a cap on the efficiency one:

Say you are in the middle of a very intense firefight on the ground. you are marking targets, and your teammate is doing his job well and decimating. Everyone is happy with him using the aircraft, and he’s hitting his quotas for efficiency.

Suddenly, despite all that, he’s forced out of the aircraft. The team loses that strong air support, and we lose because of it.

My point is, there shouldn’t be a cap on the efficiency side of it, because at the end of the day, he’s still supporting the team. THAT is the important part. The limitation suggestion should ONLY effect those that are a BURDEN to the team.

So 'the rich get richer" argument, to me holds no weight in this instance, as due to their efficiency, the team as a whole is more likely to win, not just one player trying to do a challenge or something.

what I mean by rich get richer (high scorers gets higher score…er). Is if you are good. you will always get AND keep the vehicles and keep wracking up score. Sorta becomes exclusive to good pilots who can just farm vehicle kills all day.

Probably what you want. But the 80% that are really “meh” will whine about that. but anyway.

Ill just leave it at that. Makes no difference to me in the end, because it wouldn’t effect me in the slightest.

Come on man, you’ve seen my posts for a while now. You should know by now that “what I want” is as follows for the game:

  1. Balanced gameplay, no 1 or 2 things being stronger than everything else
  2. Promotion of teamwork, balancing based on coordinated usage rather than just solo use
  3. Incentives to play the objective by either direct involvement or through support

Ultimately, that players use tactics and teamwork with the primary intent of winning as a team rather than solo success (lots of kills but still losing).

Not necessarily. Good pilots can still be shot down, clip a tree and lose a wing, etc.

The efficiency aspect suggestion is there to keep players accountable for using the team resource and not just touring the map with it, and also to remove pilots that are in fact burdening their team.

I think they should have a point system like they did for the mechs in the titan rising event: you had to earn enough points before you could spawn a mech. They should add that into the base game and expand it to all vehicles so players can’t just exclusively cycle through vehicles.

Make people earn the slot before they get into it, and once they die they have to start over again

Heres the problem. If its the other teams job it rarely happens I had 3 matches in a row where one guy hogged the plane the entire match… all 3 of them didn’t do a thing.
