Plane Timers

I keep having issues where I need to get X amount of kills with a plane just for a guy to be hogging it and doing nothing the entire match. Can we please for the love of god set a timer or something. 3 minutes?

They claim that in their arcade mode, players are free to choose whatever they want without restriction

I don’t think a TIMER is the best solution for this.

I think there needs to be an indicator of efficiency that needs to be hit for continuous use of aircraft.
X amount of points/ 5 minutes. If the required amount isn’t met, it will give the player 60 seconds to attempt to safely land the aircraft or simply jump out (or crash).

That would solve…

like some kind of blue flame coming from the kitchen

lol, no.

Like a UI element that indicates a needed score amount for continued use.
EXAMPLE: 735/1000 score, 1:34 time left

I think we meaning the same

I suppose I didn’t understand the reference then.

Global timer or player lockout? cos global timer wont help.

been suggesting for a while. But while maps are small. vehicles squad types should be on a 3 spawn rotation lockout. Gives everyone a turn, And the other team “perhaps” a breather/reward for destroying instead of a constant game of wack a mole.

there are other ways like a spawn point system. But that ends up as the rich get richer, which makes the above preferable (IMO)

IN the game Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, there is a mechanic that would be great for this case, when a player spends a long time in a certain role, making bad use of it, players can open a vote to expel him from that role

I could get on board with that. Having an incapable player hoard the attacker plane slot and never kill tanks who are dominating your team is a problem. I’m not sure what the logic should be but some way to keep a low level player from flying around for 15 minutes and getting 9 kills and 0 vehicle kills would be nice.

I dont like this, people trying to practice will get constantly thrown out.

And being on other team its nice having greenhorns taking up that slot. Gives you a reprieve. (Sure it sucks when they are on your team, but that holds true for any squad not doing their job)

That is literally what the practice range is for. Heck even custom games.

Exactly.

The thing is, the planes, and especially CAS planes are often one of the MOST VALUABLE assets to a team. So by having (for lack of a better term) incompetent pilots dominating that slot for extended period of time, they may very well be the primary reason for a team’s loss.

That is simply unfair to those other 9 players who may very well be fighting tooth and nail for the win, just to have their most valuable asset that could literally be the one deciding factor, flying around the map trying to figure out their controls.

The other thing that I’ve brought up in the past that I still VERY much think would help the situation as a whole is to require players to pass “test” scenarios after they complete the flight tutorial, to see if they can actually meet a standard requirement to where they won’t be an outright burden to their team.
If they can’t pass the scenario, they aren’t able to slot a plane squad in their lineup until they do pass it. That simple.

the matches in the game are too fleeting to use these things.

Haha then you will have to implement that for everything and kick half the team for sucking in general and wasting team slots :stuck_out_tongue:

maybe some sort of “kick the pilot” vote?

So you want to take over the plane just because you need it for your task and the pilot is not good enough.

Timer? No.
Vote? No.
Score counter? No.
Just no.

Maybe you think that he is being a problem, because he is not good enough in your eyes, but maybe he is trying hard like hell, still learning and practicing to get better, or even he is doing his own task.
You’ll just have to wait it out AFAIC.
If he is that bad, he wont be flying for long anyway.
