The Chinese copy of the experimental Type II submachine gun. Even less is known about this Type II submachine gun model than about the Japanese experimental “short machine guns” of the 30s. In the archive of the arsenal’s design department, Chinese gunsmiths discovered drawings of the Japanese experimental Type II model of 1934.

For what purpose these drawings were transferred to mainland China by K.Nambu Chuo Kogyo K.K., for familiarization or deployment on the Hoten production line, has not yet been established.
In view of the need for any automatic weapons for arming the nationalist The Chinese Army submachine gun was put into production. An approximate estimate of the number of units produced is no more than 400-500.\ The Chinese copy has significant design simplifications from the original Japanese one. The caliber has been changed to .45 automatic transmission (11.43 x 23mm), straight rod magazines for 30 rounds are used, similar to magazines for Thompson submachine guns (20-charge can be used) adjacent from below through the guide neck. The magazine’s latch button is located on the left side of the metal frame. The stock is simplified and consists of a butt with a weakly pronounced pistol grip, and a short forearm with a metal backplate. Automation is still based on the recoil of a free shutter casing spring-loaded with a return spring placed around the barrel like a pistol. Platoon by a handle welded to the casing, similar in shape to the bolt handle of a Thompson M1921 submachine gun. A muzzle compensator is mounted on the casing in the form of a muzzle with four holes or four transverse slits located on top. The pneumatic shock absorber has been replaced with a buffer insert made of hard rubber to soften the impact of the shutter in the rear position. The rate of operation of the automation is constant at 500-550 rounds per minute.

The firing mode is only automatic, shooting is performed from the rear position of the shutter. The rear sight is an unregulated permanent circular one for 100 meters. The safety catch is a flag on the left side above the trigger.

Technical characteristics of the Type II submachine gun of the Mukden arsenal of the 1946 model, caliber .45 automatic transmission (11.43 x 23mm), straight 20 or 30 round magazine, total length 733 mm., barrel length 230 mm, rate of fire 500 rounds per minute, weight without cartridges 3470 gr., permanent circular sight at 100 meters.

yeah i dont want the ak47 to pollute the game
cold war needs to be in a mode separate from ww2

Some people believe that it was produced during the war too.
The strongest evidence for this being a war time gun is the machinery which was imported by Japan to produced submachine guns in China.
But unlike most nations, China needed guns after the war too so its possible that these machines produced actual Japanese guns than switched to a new design after WW2.
Though its possible that the design is a WW2 gun, but only reached prototype stage before the war ended with no serial production or it was only a paper tiger and the first gun was only produced after the war.

Unlikely
It is basicly a japanese type2 smg in .45ACP
Produced after the Japanese surrender and processed by machinery left behind by Japan to solve the shortage of smg in civil war

After the war, the Mukden Arsenal was renamed the “90th North China Arsenal”, but we can still see “MMF” (Mukden manufacture factory) on the weapons, which raises doubts about the production years.

Also, according to Chinese information, the ZB 26 6.5 mm machine gun was also produced after the war, but this contradicts Japanese sources.
ZB -26 30 round mag

So there are some reasons to doubt the actual years of production.

Well, actually, once he mentioned the name of this factory, I knew for sure that it must have been during World War II. Because after the liberation of New China, they had defeated the Kuomintang and destroyed all these military factories and such. That means before Japan surrendered, when the Kuomintang was still in power, this factory definitely came from their side. So in at least half of China’s territory, there were at least a bunch of warlords of all sizes. The Communist Party’s weapons were mostly captured. The Kuomintang at least had military factories and could produce a lot of things. I think this thing might be from the period of World War II.
