Our Troops must be Strong to be a relevant variable. (BOT's should be stronger)

Is quite irrelevant the firepower of your bot’s in the squad, they should be a Relevant variable in a fire fight.

OF COURSE, in the right dose. like 3 BOT,s should kill a unfocused player easy. if well equipped.

no one will survive in solo against 3 players equipped whit PPSH in close range, it should work the same in against BOT,s

a fast route to this is to increase the accuracy of BOT.s. since tactical improve they is hardcoded.

anyway, i like to see what other players think. let’s debate.

well, i see people in this topic have some major issues that should be take in consideration before we give a buff in the BOT,s. and a lot of people agree, we need our troops strong, not strong had chuck Norris, but Strong enough to call they not idiots. let’s see the issues.

They all agree that they should have more firepower having more accuracy or by more aggressive whit they auto guns, firing multiple rounds in the target.

They must be no Radar mans, so depending where you are, if you have camouflage or being hiding, it means stealth should be possible against Bots, has much it can be against Players.

THE DOSE IS IMPORTANT, all agree that they should be not STRONG or WEAK, they should be something that give challenge to a player that is not fighting hard, but die relative easy against a expert and focused player.

Now we begin talking about how AI actual work, and how it should work whit the Coding knowledge we have. AND i see that they should have a Camouflage level.

how this works? there are 5 levels of Camouflage, may it a Hidden factor, or something the player can see it’s something of debate, but BOT,s should obey and suffer penalty’s or buff from how this level is. for example

Level 5 : Hidden soldier, in prone, under vegetation camouflage and stay, (Literally hidden)

Level 4: Sported but very hidden, so V spot key should be a influence to this level of Camouflage.

Level 3: In nature, but stand up,

Level 2: In Urban, but not to much exposed.

Level 1: Totally exposed and stand up, easy to get killed.

Personal, i Strongly suggest that the DEV,s should show this Level of Camouflage, and in time to time, improve how we can benefit from this, The uniform latter should be a camouflage impact, has well many many things.

Personal, i think that they being a bit more accuracy is good, but ‘‘my self’’ have a better idea, Make they shoot more. that will suppress both Players and BOT,s and will give a good reason to equip they well, so they can always give some pressure to unfocused players.

I agree, Bots have to be more useful than just a “second life” for the player.

Bots should also be able to operate AA, Cannons and fixed machine guns.

I think most of the playerbase would aggree with you. Bots are too stupid, they react too slowly and are thus a bit too easy cannon fodder.

Additional they do not react intelligently to commands thus getting them into bad situations like walking outside of the cover you told them to stay in.

They really need to make better squad contols and better intelligence to make them more usefull.

AI were excellent during Moscow CBT, however with the introduction of the Normandy campaign issues also got introduced.

Normandy had much more visual cover in form of trees, bushes and tall grass - which didn’t effect AIs ability to spot and target the enemy.

The forum was on fire and people asked for a nerf - me included.

Thus AI got rather weak.

Some behaviour has changed over the years, but at the core AI stayed toned down in order to not break the game.

Any major buff to the AI will probably result in a nerf again.

the biggest annoyance for me with the bots is their special talent for blocking your sights and lying down infront of you as you are aiming, … accidentally killed myself in the heat of the battle in the game as a bot ran infront as i fired a piat… fun times. If the boths could try to always be behind you or atleast not in front of you… that would do wonders.

what would do wonders with the bots , if they could actually get in cover and not stand with their backs toward the action … in a window… and bunched together , and if they could move out of the way from in front of you.

Bots were supposed to be ai trained but they feel scripted like cod 1 bots. If only bots would think for themselves and try to flank enemies, throw nades at them, build covers/ammo boxes/at guns, use mg while being inside a tank, use leaning mechanics to camp near windows/doors, plant mines all in 25m radius from you like actual players, but nah we have ai that feels like a relic from the past that just stare at the wall/ceiling and only react when you start shooting. I’m starting to feel like that “machine learning ai” speak was just a marketing to the investors and gaijin (to give them more funds).

and when they get buffed we get topics every day about cheaters that shoot impossible shots through bushes, walls etc.

making AI is an art that devs clearly dont know how to do. ffs they have problem with making sure that bots arent in spot that you are building on and you expect that they will buff bots smartly? you will just see increase in their reaction time and accuracy of their aim bot and that will lead to increase of bad player frustration. ffs now some players are even worse than current bots…

Just make them shoot MORE, if not accurately

Hiting the targuets is very important in modern warfare.

but you ideia is very insteresting has well, Making they shoot more agressive will guarated they are using all the hardware they got.

making more sence giving they Auto guns, nice ideia to.

Like you said, i have a ideia that should be ‘‘easy’’ to do. if you can see the ideia in the frist topic. there is the image needed to see how it may work the camuflage level.

The point is, Where you ARE, and Where the Enemy ARE, so that depends your position and the enemy position that will affect they acuracy.

That means, if the player knows where to position he,s troops before the fire fight beguins, he will probably we win it.

So if i postion my troops in the RED area, and you are in the middle of this sectors, you squad will probably loose the fire fight. that depends of Course from many factors, Main the terrain, Range, and if you are spoted or not by using V command.

along side the Way points, they should be programed by always taking in consideration where they are, and where the enemy is.

I’m not asking for terminators, just make them more useful, intelligent and humanlike.

Brothers in Arms had pretty decent squad controlled AI and that was released in 2005. There are numerous games with decent AI enemies in FPS genre so its not exactly new tech.

Pretty much. Sometimes i feel like they are on rails as well like instead of following me through the window safely into the objective. They all run around the building and down the corridor with their backs facing the enemy. Is that pre programmed set pathways?

I enjoy this game a lot but the bots are one of the big USPs that fleshes out the battlefield but they are an embarrassment.

It,s Obvius they still have dificult to folow the player, this must be reworked to, BUT it,s hardcoded.

to have a quick way to improve the BOT,s. we need to increase they acurace OR make they shoot more bullets.

Hiting the Targuets is VERY VERY Important, no matter how well positioned you are, it is worthless if you miss all shoots,
