Dear Dark Flow,
You ruined Normandy with the implementation of Paratroopers. They were bad enough when they became available as premium squads… And now that you created an event that has rewarded these same players with an additional paratrooper squad to their rotation… Do you realize what you’ve done to the game?
-Attacking teams that are composed of players, who each have 1 or 2 paratrooper squads in his/her rotations, have the ability to spawn on top of the objective throughout the entire match (as well as on the flanks, and near the defending team’s spawn point)
-Stacked teams, with players who are in parties, and are using discord/microphones… can literally communicate with each other, and time/choreograph the deployment of each of their paratrooper squads.
-The paratrooper-plane Magically arrives out of nowhere, is not marked by a red triangle (like radiomen’s bombers), and it quickly deploys the paratroopers with minimal risk with ever being shot down before the paratroopers are deployed.
-In order to succesfully stop an incoming paratrooper plane, a player is required to camp on an AA gun, and wait for these Stealth planes to magically appear in the sky (from any direction, with no identification).
-People complain about grey zone campers, right? What about people camping on AA guns, who are trying to counter the paratroopers who are spawning anywhere-and-everywhere on the map?
-Each team only has 10 human players, and many times, matches are not full, and teams are composed of A.I controlled squads.
-If the defending team has 1 or 2 players in a tank
-And 1 or 2 players in an aircraft
-You only have 6-8 human players who are able to engage the attacking paratroopers, who can literally spawn ANYWHERE on the map.
-Matches that are not full, sometimes there’s only like 3 or 4 human players using infantry squads.
-Allied team now has a the ability to spawn anywhere on the map, with full squads armed with SMG’s/LMG’s that have 100-round capacity.
-If you consider paratroopers spawning anywhere, the constant aircraft spamming, tank spamming, artillery spamming, and WP spamming… the matches become nothing more than an explosion/sprinting simulator, with Call of Duty CQC style gun-fights.
From the defenders perspective, there’s no more teamwork, nor is there any form of line-of-defense.
At any given time, paratroopers can appear from any and all directions, and defenders are now fighting Alamo-style, from all four directions of the map.
As a defender… A player must watch his front, his left, his right, his rear, and the sky.
Because unless you’re camping and staring at the sky, you’ll never know where the paratroopers are going to appear next. The moment you focus your attention to the advancing infantry that are on the ground… is the moment a paratroop squad spawns behind you (or directly on top of you), and shoots you and your teammates in the back.
For example: Take one of my matches from today. The map was D-Day, and the match was nothing short of a joke. The opposing team was spawning paratroopers throughout the entire match, and all five objectives were captured in less than 13 minutes.
The attacking team would literally time the deployment of their paratroopers, with movement of each objective, and were able to maintain 1,000 tickets until the final objective (where they were bled down to 800).
The defending team was slaughtered in all directions.
There’s no more strategy in this game. Each map is just a shitfest. Pay some money, and you can spawn anywhere on the map (even if the deployment location doesn’t make any sense)
Good job
First objective: Example of attacking paratroopers immediately deploying at the start of the match. Why is there no delay, like the aircraft? For F*** sakes, give the defenders a chance to build some AA, to try and counter these absurd elite soldier.
Second objective: Paratroopers appearing out of nowhere
Third Objective: Part 1: More Paratroopers spawn ontop of the objective
Third Objective Part 2:
Fourth Objective: Hey look, more paratroopers spawning on the objective
Final Objective: Imagine that. No effort required. With the click of a button, the attacking team can instantly spawn ontop of the remaining objective (while the defenders have to sprint 100+ meters)
Scorecard:
And while I would love to continue showing video examples of other matches, it’s too time consuming and redundant. The only way you could possibly make this situation worse than it is, is creating more paratrooper squads and allowing players to cycle through three at a time.
I sincerely do not understand how this Big Update is going to make the game better, when it’s very apparent that the phrase Historical Accuracy and the game Enlisted, can no longer be heard in the same breath.
Enlisted is moving further and further towards the most NON-Historically Accurate WW2 games on the market.
The bells and whistles can only distract people for so long…
Speaking of Historical Accuracy and Realism. Have you ever looked at historical images of the American paratroopers from WW2?
Have you ever paid attention, and noticed how encumbered each soldier was with all of the gear he would be deploying with?
Feel free to browse the historical images below, and consider how long it would take to remove/organize all of their gear, once each soldier hit the ground.
How long do you think it would take each soldier to safely land, unburden his gear, organize, and then be combat-ready?

But in the game Enlisted, the paratroopers only carry minimal gear, and they are able to engage in combat the moment they hit the ground.
The direction this game is going, doesn’t look very appealing.
Why would anybody enjoy playing match-after-match, that is nothing more than a steamroll?
Even as the attackers, it’s strange how people do not find this type of gameplay boring?
Where is the fun or challenege, in being able to spawn anywhere you want?
What’s fun about matches ending in 10-15 minutes? That’s the same duration as something you would find in a match of Halo, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, etc.
