(normandy) sitaution with the tanks in the upcoming update

now with the addition of the p51 imo there is enough fire power to destroy panthers, average pilots with p47/51 shouldn’t have many problems destroy it.

but i still see problems that do not involve jumbo and panther

m5 and m4a2 with this tankis still have only AP?, they are not OP or even good so why this “nerf”?

m10 a shitty TD that its literally a worse pzIV change it with a m4 76 at this point, at least is margianlly better

pzIVJ why this tank is in normandy? there is already a pzIVh change with a stug or a marder III if m10 dont get changed

so what you all think?

not pertinent to this argoument

this passage from wikipedia make me question why df picked the m10 as a panther counter

U.S. awareness of the inadequacies of their tanks grew only slowly. All U.S. M4 Shermans that landed in Normandy in June 1944 had the 75 mm gun. The general purpose 75 mm M4 gun could not penetrate the Panther from the front at all, although it could penetrate various parts of the Panther from the side at ranges from 400 to 2,600 m (440 to 2,840 yd). The 76 mm gun could also not penetrate the front hull armour of the Panther, but could penetrate the Panther turret mantlet at very close range

I dont think relying on a few high level pilots in every game balances anything and take that for either side. Usually youll get someone in a P38 all game doing nothing. Definitely would like better ammo though as most tank shells seem to do far less than they should

i know but if the fire power exist and is more than enough why add more?

They shouldnt add more. They shouldnt add bombs to the damn P51 to start especially since they removed them from the German one! You are essentially hoping you get a high level player who also uses planes which doesnt sound very reliable

we wait for them to rework the campaigns we will probably have to wait until 2023 but they will solve this problem also because the current system does not allow the addition of weapons and vehicles that do not serve as a counter

regarding your question why m10 if you read the ww2 american tank fighting doctrine you will notice that the americans used tank destroyers to eliminate the enemy armored forces leaving the sherman family to support the infantry.

yeah they should give back the 250kg bomb to the bf109

yeah its not, but at least im not hoping in a high level player that have a useless TD that is not more good than a pzIV for destroy a panther.

The M10 isnt useless but it definitely isnt an equivalent. The maps dont really allow for good tank destroyer game play so to me its a pretty poor match up for the style of game we have in enlisted which is dominated by medium tanks. People complain about Italian tanks anti infantry abilities but trust me the M10 is as bad or even worse

yeah it was more related to the game balance itself, seeing that DF care about realism when they can make money i dont think they care about the ameican doctrine.

The care of realism and real ww2 war doctrine wen they sell you the firefly an churchill :upside_down_face:

i feel its useless bc of this against a good tanker a soon a the m10 pop up he’s dead, there is no way to full flank like in wt and with the slow turret traverse the reaction time are extremely longer.

ah yes 60$ for a more protected m10 without APCBC yes absolutely worth it

Exactly because the maps/game style simply dont allow it. TDs survive by not being seen but thats pretty hard to do in this game. It also lacks alot of flexibility to deal with infantry which is something the panther has no problem with

depends on the map, many maps in normandy do not allow flanking or engaging from a distance, if the maps were really large M10 it would probably be lethal since you can engage enemy tanks from more than a kilometer, just look at a gameplay of HLL or post scriptum

i hope maps reworks come in 2 years maximum, but i have low hope about it.

this is why i suggested the m36 Jackson its literally the same br 5.3 as the panther 5.3

if the maps were like this i would not have any problems with the m10, is another viable playstile.

but most of the maps are basically this
61ObzV5WdfL.AC_SX425

so yeah not worth using it

the problem will remain exposed commander, cant use the 50 cal, low armor, cant flank, marginally better gun, open top.

still not worth it

it would be better than m10 at least it had a 90mm gun that helps then only other option would be like m26 perishing

still can get destroyed as soon as it spawn, TD are not worth using in normandy in this state.

maybe in conquest you can use a TD efficiently but in invasion no a jumbo is always a better choice

and also the m18 super hellcat with 90mm gun had a roof kit installed
