New repair system is more “realistic” but thats the problem.
Gameplay is arcady and communication so limited.
Tanks must be more carefull now but what if your team doesnt mark anything, zero coordination and map knowledge ? If you dont use the most op tank in the campaign then good luck since you will need it.
This is the prime example of identity crisis.
Mechanics within a game must be compatible with the general gameplay.
My hope is that this new mechanic is a foreshadowing of more things to come that will significantly slow down the gameplay. You’re right, as is the game is too fast-paced and small-scale for the tank repair system to be used properly.
You are bit wrong here buddy. Our crap gameplay should be compatible to such mechanics, not vise versa. As i pointed in one my topic, maps and tasks break not just tank repairing, they break everything, including stationary buildings
Only meaningfull change is redesigning some maps from top to bottom and enlarging obj and playable areas. It took months to fix rear gunner bug. It will take at least 2 years to fix maps. I lost my all hope.
Just keep punching door. You have not very much choice among f2p projects but Enlisted might survive anyway as WT did
I need to wait to see how it will turn out. So far my tanks always got blown up by bombs anyway so repairs were my least concerns.
But at the same time, its another nerf/ feature/ buff (?) no one really asked for.
I see some people saying that it punish greyzone tanks but… like how? It actually punish tanks who dare to leave greyzone because now they need to spend time looking for the right spot in the middle of clusterfucked battles to repair. Surely more tanks will leave greyzone because of that.
The mechanics would make sense in a less fast Enlisted or at least bigger maps but so far we lost first one and have been asking for second one since CBT.
Well those people are just mad at gray zone and unable to use antitank means so anything that is bad for tanks make them defend it even if they shoot their own leg lol. Anyway to make this mechanics working, we need better maps and slower speeds. Along with tank slipping i see devs don’t understand what they are doing
doubt it. Even though I’d like that to happen myself, it’s unquestionable what the core of the game is. one helper directly admitted that there will not even be any realistic mod, let alone rearrange the entire core of the game. It’s just not worth it.
same goes for binos, canteens, shovels, weapon mounting… literally every fancy feature is outpaced by just running and gunning. It’s truly strange indeed but I’d say it’s just bad design rather than a preview of something great.
With such rhetoric I’d better leave already as game balance and meat grinder gameplay kill even recently introduced features and basically make time and money spent on project just thrown into trashcan. If they wouldn’t balance it all to give people at least SOME fun of using different guns and playstyles, then it’s RIP
Actually, tank part of the gameplay is discouraging marking.
Since the guy who marks tend to let others to get the kills first.
No one mark for me. But if I marked some tanks, team mates respond ridiculously fast and kill it first.
The entire cooperation part of the game need a redesign to encourage team to play together even if they arent grouped friends at first.
PS: I have played lots of games on Steam and made a bunch of friends there. And I have also been playing Enlisted for 3 years now, and I rarely made friends in-game. And my friends IRL mostly denied to play Enlisted.
Yesterday my dad saw what they did to OUR tanks with new physics and crap 122mm shells and said he will send me to orphanage if I don’t leave playing this. Grandpa said that in his times such disgusting mapdesign would lead mapmakers to be arrested and shot. Jokes but…
I was planned to test the new tank repairs during the test servers. But dev just didnt give me the golds that I should get from the released server. So I didnt bother to test it.
I already made a plenty of guess about the new repairs. Plus knowing the existing bugs that I already reported months if not years ago about getting on and off the tanks.
It will be a “great” experience for you.
Plus, that T is fake. You have to press and hold LMB to repair.
I got used to repair only in Stalingrad where i have chance to survive hits and go somewhere to safety. In Berlin for example i often die by 1 heat launch/bomb/shell, though it’s cramped and i barely would have place and time to repair
I think it’s a matter of perspective. The tank combat in this game is superior to a true “arcade” war sim like any Battlefield flavor. The devs took the arcade cheese hide-behind-your-tank-and-fix-everything style away and made it more rewarding for experienced tankers. I think anyone who is a veteran can agree, a tank is an easy way to rack up a lot of kills, there should be some skill curve involved in it’s mastery (just like planes
)
Why do we need skill in Enlisted where you mostly kill bots?
bots are not shooting at your tank in other tanks
What a exaggeration, jeez.
I think ZebulonBVance has a point though. The same thing I’ve been hoping for. A rework on toolkits, the tank repair system is just the first part to a much larger plan.
It might be more of a pain for the individual tankers, but upon doing some testing, its FAR more effective when you have friendly infantry with toolkits nearby.
Which RIGHT NOW isn’t something that is a common occurrence, but if they add in some other reasons for infantry to carry toolkits… then more infantry will be carrying them and able to assist tanks at the same time!
I said and gonna say again, if this repair system continues infantry should get members disabled after shots
