New player experienсe is a problem. Initial comments from a friend I invited to try Enlisted

  • What is this main menu from 2005? Why are there so many buttons, levels, tiers, BRs, stars, ranks, tokens?
  • I’m going to mostly play against people who all have better stuff than me? Well crap.
  • My eyes are strained from the graphics and I have a headache now.
  • Enemy tank! But I don’t have explosive packs unlocked? And no AT rifle? And no AT cannon I can build? So I can’t destroy it? Well crap.
  • Ok I understand I need to build rally points. What do you mean Engineers are 3 rifles down the unlock tree? So I’m deadweight now. Well crap.
  • Why are we fighting Battle of the Bulge with M1903 bolt actions, Seagull water-based planes and yellow Italian M14/41 tanks? Wtf?

To be honest those are all valid questions that need to be adressed for new players experience (if we ever do Steam Release 2.0).

You are an excellent contributor of opinion, but sometimes you talk and say things about a 10-year-old child.

I ask you
How was the Game when you started Enlisted?
Why do you play until today?

No Hands, No Cookies. Simple.

Ok you have a good Point about that BR Shit and Yellow Tunisia Tanks in Moscow or Bulge

Enlisted is full of Hopes and Disapointments… I’m a Masochist i guess.

the game is too much for new players, the tutorial sucks. And the initial equipment does not help win battles

You don’t even have an engineer, and they give you a squad of snipers so that the new ones can hide outside the objective and lose games.

The New Player Experience is in DESPERATE need of a revamp. The game simply is not new player friendly. Most new players will not be looking up tutorial videos and such to play a game. It should be plug and play nowadays and as simple and streamlined as possible. Unless you want a niche game, the first hour or so needs to grab their attention and such. Outside of bug fixing, IMO, this is the number 1 priority for the game.

I was honestly surprised new players can’t even buy explosive packs.
That’s some extra cruelty towards noobs.

These should be fixed ASAP.
Normandy and Bulge should be removed from BR1-3 and new players should start with engineers.

Newbies don’t unlock explosion packs in the first couple of matches anymore? Yes they should start with an Engie Squad. Yes Hurtgen Forest needs to be removed from I-III

Yeah I also thought that complaint was stupid. It’s incredibly simple to figure out. Especially with someone there to guide you

They never did, you needed certain campaign level to be able to buy them.

Are new gamers that stupid? We have the wealth of knowledge at our fingertips, every one of us, and all we have to do is open YT and search Enlisted beginner or tutorial or whatever and boom you got someone going over “5 basic things you NEED to know about Enlisted”
I’ve looked up tips and tricks for games before. The views on the videos I watched means other people have before. Why are Enlisted newbies not capable of doing that same thing?

Yeah and it took all of what? 5-10 matches?

No

i think it was campaign 8 in the old system or maybe lower but i dont remember sadly but im sure Euthy knows

Maybe I’m simplifying the first few levels in my mind, but still it didn’t take long to get explosive packs. It was one of the first pieces of equipment you unlocked

Now you need Tier 1 researched.

all of Tier 1 or unlocking Tier 2

its not that they are stupid … its that the majority of people do not consume that sort of content. People that are active within a game’s community are in fact the minority … a vocal minority mind you. But the vast majority simply play the game and log off … if they dont enjoy a game they uninstall it. They don’t look for guides. As such, this stuff needs to be in the game and the in game UI needs to cater to those to maintain a proper population.

I think the game has a lot of hope, it’s looking like a great future minus the Steam release. Granted they are slow, very slow on some issues but I think the game should do well in the future.
