Hi, first of all, thank you for feedback.
Correct me if I’m wrong. The point is that it was no longer imperial, but became the Chunghwa Post, and its correct Chinese spelling is 中華郵政.

It’s great that after starting the new week’s work, you were able to quickly collect and think about feedback and suggestions regarding the new map.
And began to prepare for revision actions.

Therefore, I have decided to provide you with some public map information about the city of Harbin.

↑The distribution map of houses in Harbin in 1932 and the geomantic map of Harbin City in 1932.

↑The map of Harbin in 1939。

↑The street map of Harbin in 1940。

↑The map of Harbin districts in 1943。

As for the landmark buildings in Harbin, they are more likely to have their corresponding materials retrieved.

PS: In the administrative divisions of Harbin urban area, there are Daoli District and Daowai District. It is divided with the Binzhou Railway as the dividing line.
The ancient Harbin Railway Station is quite magnificent.

In 1945, Harbin had over 700,000 settlers.
In 1990, Harbin had a population of 8,834,600 .
In 1898, Moscow had a population of 8,967,000.

I’ll say it again: as with Burma and the Ardennes, the city’s design is more inspired by Harbin, but it won’t be a 1:1 copy of Harbin because we have certain texture constraints we need for pre-gen consoles. Increasing the number of unique buildings would also push us up against the limitations of prev-gen consoles. Plus, purely urban gameplay is very boring, as Berlin demonstrates. So we had to resort to simplifications and conventions.

About post office: The main point is that it was no longer imperial, but became the Chunghwa Post, and its correct Chinese spelling is 中華郵政 ? Is it more correct?

This can be understood.

But for the map of Harbin, it has been overly simplified.
Even in Lejev, in Ardennes, in Stalingrad, in Myanmar.
Players can correctly understand the local cultural and natural landscapes in these maps. Players born there can have a sufficient sense of immersion, just like returning to their childhood hometown again.

But Harbin wasn’t. When I saw the new map, I didn’t let out a sharp screeching! Because the Far East - Manchuria is vast, it encompasses: the Outer Xing 'an Range/Greater Xing 'an Range/Lesser Xing 'an Range/Northeast Plain/Changbai Mountains/Liaodong Peninsula.

But unfortunately, this map was named Harbin.
I spent two hours searching in the editor with w+shift, trying to find the familiar feeling. But sadly, as I strolled through the map, it felt as if I had arrived in the territory of aliens rather than my hometown.

So, the simplest way to revise:
I hope to change the name of this map to only retain the word “Manchuria” and remove the word “Harbin”.
This is the simplest way to solve this problem.
The rest is for the future, if any.

The plan in my personal opinion:
Plan 1
Manchukuo Post Office/Escort Bureau
滿洲國郵政/鏢局(Traditional Chinese)
满洲国邮政/镖局(Simplified Chinese)

Option 2
China Post/Escort Agency
中華郵政/鏢局
中华邮政/镖局

Option 3
Kanto Post/Escort Agency
關東郵政/鏢局
关东邮政/镖局

In addition, you can apply to Gaijin to get in touch with the agents in China and seek their assistance.
Even so, please ask Gaijin and Huozhan Interactive Entertainment Company (the Chinese agent) to sponsor you to enjoy a trip in the four northeastern provinces of China that includes architecture, terrain, museums and memorial halls, and is full of historical atmosphere.

Blasphemy!

I am a fan of fighting in painstakingly recreated historical cities (but a hater of BT-7 in Berlin or Su-9 1946 in Stalingrad).

I really wish old gen consoles got their own version of the game and we the PC Overlords wouldn’t have to sacrifice what can be done.

Would absolutely love to see more recreations of historical cities like Budapest, Cologne, Konigsberg or Sevastopol, as well as more individual landmarks and assets in the existing locations such as Stalingrad’s Elevator or Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport!

So we won’t be getting cool historical maps like berlin or stalingrad anymore? Because of old consoles? That is sad

Also I really wish we stopped this “All (new) maps are All BRs” bullshit.

Wald with T-28, Rzhev with Tiger 2, Ardennes with interwar British A-13…

This is just sad and pathetic to see.

It’s quite obvious they’re aiming to unlock all maps for all BRs.

Stop living in the past.

Sure, then they should also aim to allow players to choose where they prefer to play:

First and foremost, the game would need an overall rebalancing of equipment based on its year of deployment.

As of now, BRs do not reflect this. Therefore, there is no real reason to artificially limit the map pool for the sake of historical immersion.

There is no reason to not give players any influence over what they prefer to play

Of course.

That is, if there exists some magical solution that wouldn’t negatively impact other aspects of the game.

But that’s not what your solution is offering. There’s plenty of late war equipment on low BRs that would be for most of the time locked out of late war maps. For no good reason whatsoever, other than that some guy is of an opinion that low BRs = early war.

For your argument to be valid, BRs would first have to reflect the year of deployment. Otherwise, there could be completely different criteria for which maps should be on which BRs, such as map size (if we ever get any significantly larger ones - Just like in War Thunder) or how open the map is, whatever.

To base it around the year of the war simply makes no sense. Totally random criteria in current state of things.

How does my solution negatively impact other aspects of the game?

Specifically, not being able to play majority of VS stuff on Berlin maps. As long as your preferential MM works.

Why should the immersion of people who prioritize low BR early war stuff be more important than of those who are interested in low BR late war stuff?

How so?

You can keep your preferences default as “all BRs for Berlin” and keep playing whatever you want there.

Sorry, I overlooked that there would be an option to turn it off.

But in that case, I don’t understand what’s your problem with:

Plus your solution would probably be as effective as the current map preferences are anyway btw.
