If the 88mm flak truck is at BR3 then why is the Nashorn at BR4, anyway? Both are glass cannons with an 88mm cannon
How about both?
That’s great news, I fully support it. By the way, I’ve got four fabricated pictures from a rumour-maker. Let’s guess how many predictions will come true this time.
Maps in the game have gotten so small that this vehicle will end up fighting up close alongside the Panzer IV on the frontline. All its long-range sniping and wall-penetration perks it had on large War Thunder maps are gone entirely. On top of that, in arcade mode, infantry can easily spot it and call in aircraft to strafe it to death with machine guns. It has no advantages left at all and is burdened with nothing but downsides.

Guess what… the loaders are even more exposed than the ta-se which is notorious for getting sniped…
Did the devs really think this tank is fine at BR 4?
Edit: Coverage of the sidemounted mgs even worse than expected.
Oh and fun fact while the player can control the loader manning the mg he is unable to shoot them manually.
So whats then point
Wait a second, from this perspective, are the two loaders sticking out of the tank? Wouldn’t snipers pick them off easily?
If this vehicle gets BR4, Gaijin’s just putting an annoying roadblock on the tech tree for us.
Thanks for sharing these test screenshots. We’ve got to push to keep it at BR3.
if you continue with such assumptions, nkvd will knock ur door, comrade
Scoped ptrs users needs more targets, so that explains
Do not worry.
The staff selectively ignores those threads.
The PTRS will go straight through the paper armor in the first place so it really doesnt matter
I love 95% of these changes, why haven’t any of these logical changes been made this update?
I explained how my “no” vote wasn’t really a “no” vote, and explained my reasoning.
I noted that the issue doesn’t exist in a vacuum, or even within the one tech tree, and that placing it at BR3 should mean, for one immediate knock-on effect, that the Flakbus should likewise slip down a tier to BR2.
In my own example of trying to make sense of the placement of various vehicles overall, I indeed placed the Nashorn at BR3.
Maybe try reading what someone has actually written before condescendingly insisting that they “use some actual logic”.
I literally read everything you said, and thinking something like the flak bus belongs in BR2 tells me that you either don’t own it or you have no logic on how vehicles should be balanced in this game. Funny how the first 3 words you start with are “I voted no”
You can vote no because you think a measure is a bad idea in itself.
You can also vote no because one change isn’t enough - especially when it doesn’t work towards a cohesive framework (in which case one could at least rationalize a yes vote as the first of many).
Of course, the topic wasn’t where the Flakbus belongs - its placement is just a necessary to think of downstream consequence. I used it in an example of the framework I posited. I don’t know if the perfect solution is putting the Flakbus at BR2 (though historically it makes perfect sense).
What I’m quite certain of - and this was my point - is that the Flakbus (short 88, no secondary armament, halftrack chassis, gun crew literally in the breeze) can’t really belong in the same BR as the Nashorn (long 88, two MG34s, PzKpfw IV chassis, 360 degree protection from small arms fire for the gun crew).
The flak bus is a premium though. And that 88mm fires very fast. That’s the only thing going for it just like the rhino. There’s already other good open top TDs in BR 2. It’s fine where it is.
Plus the Flakbus can rotate it’s gun all round and can “destroy” airplanes too
it can shoot everywhere but forward with is a big deal as it eighter means you only drive in reverse with a whoping 4km/h or drive forward and accept that if you see anothere tank you first have to rotate the entire tank.
As for the destroying airplanes part an ATR is more effective at that.
I didn’t know that. And in my defense I don’t have it nor did I try it.
