Well, this vehicle is an event exclusive. Generally speaking, event weapons are superior to battle pass items, which in turn are better than regular tech tree ones. Since it can only be obtained from crates, its rarity deserves a reasonable balancing environment.

Haven’t all of you been utterly wrecked by the four 500-pound bombs of the XA-38? No wonder everyone hates it so much after getting crushed by it. I even want to suggest lowering the BR of the Bf 110 G-2 down to 3.0.
Of course, even American fighters at BR 3 can carry nearly six M8 rockets.
In comparison, the German Fw 190 with only two rockets looks really underpowered.
In short, we have to pay attention to boosting German aerial firepower right now.
Simply nerfing the XA-38 won’t make German vehicles stronger or more playable. We can’t just ban the official premium FP-5 and those aircraft that carry six M8 rockets either.
As the saying goes, you need to be strong yourself to stand firm. The German air force definitely needs proper buffs.
This situation is exactly the same as when players voted to push the German Bf 110 up to BR 4 back then.
I think part of the reason is that many tank players just stay stationary in position without moving, making them easy targets for airstrikes.
German players have already lost access to the Bf 110 G-2. Meanwhile, I don’t want to see the XA-38 get nerfed either.
What I hope for is not to weaken the overpowered Allied firepower, but to give German forces equivalent striking strength to fight back. It is totally different when one side has strong firepower while the other does not.

So then why is the japanese tiger not BR 4 but BR 5 despite sharing a number of flaws with the BR 4 version? If all event items are supposed to be OP then why is the argueable worst tiger for its BR an event one?
Or better yet why was the event german APC then moved to BR 3? It is rare, bulky, and was already nerfed ontop of it so why was it moved up to a BR more fitting for it?
EVENT equals OP is just allied cope that is there to justify powercreep if they feel like it.
Well, how should I put it? The Japanese Tiger is currently at BR 5. From the German players’ perspective, it really ought to be moved down to BR 4. But in the eyes of Japanese players, this tank is a treasure that can outmatch almost all other Japanese armored vehicles.

To put it straight, the Japanese Tiger is already extremely overpowered. I totally agree to drop it to BR 4. Its performance is basically a mix of different variants, and it even lacks a roof machine gun, so it really needs proper balancing.
I think the recent fierce opposition is mainly because plenty of players are playing German BR 3 content lately.
So we should push to get the Bf 110 G-2 back to BR 3.

Only a small number of players use the American XA-38 anyway. There are alternatives like the Havoc and Beaufighter sitting at BR 4, leaving BR 3 with hardly any decent strike aircraft left.
However, these polls can be good or bad, and the final decisions are all made by the official staff.
Take the 40-round magazine for the Browning for example. It gained far more overwhelming support than ours, yet it was never approved. Honestly speaking, I still doubt these polls are just empty gestures.

I really hope Germany gets an aircraft stronger than the XA-38 soon. Right now they only keep getting ground vehicles. It’s about time they get some powerful event planes, that would really boost Germany’s strength. Most new Soviet vehicles are pushed up to BR4 anyway, they might as well not release them at all.
Actually, America doesn’t have decent tech tree attack aircraft at BR3, so those rare event planes end up becoming irreplaceable choices.
Wish they would add the TT already.
Some of them are better than the tech tree one but many of them are not, you can’t use it as a rule.
This is just a lame excuse, why should rare stuff get better treatment? BR4 is more reasonable.
XA-38, by all account, is BR 4 airplane.
Let’s start with the armament. 2x ~250kg ish bombs are the standard armament for BR 3 attacker airplanes for all nations in the game but for some reason, XA-38 gets not x2, not even x3, but whooping 4x 500 lbs bombs for it’s bomb loadout. Now, there are an attacker airplane that has more than 2x 250kg bombs as their loadouts on BR 3. Ju 87 D-3 for example, having 3x 250kg bombs for it’s loadout but as we all know, Ju 87 D-3 is a flying brick(Max speed 420 km/h and climb rate of 11.88 m/s on BR 3? enough said) with pitiful amount of 7mm guns as it’s offensive armament against airplanes.
Now how fast is XA-38? it has 617 km/h max speed as well as 18.02 m/s climb rate. You’d think that an airplane carrying 4x 500 lbs bombs and big ass 75mm cannon mounted(Which, also very good at killing tanks since the tanks you’d faces on, which both japanese and german ones all have paper armor on BR3) on it’s nose as well as 6x 12.7mm guns would be slow but it’s actually the opposite. XA-38 is deceptively fast even when compared to other fast attacker airplanes on BR 3.
It is delusional to think that XA-38 is perfectly fine on BR 3.

They have 250*3 for now in TT
I doubt it, especially if it has the flight performance that the Xa-38 does. The Xa-38 is not a plane that the game should be balanced around
So looking at it this way, the only German plane with both a heavy cannon and bombs is the Ju 88 P-1. But it’s not modeled in-game. We can only hope the upcoming D-Day update brings a BR3 gift for German players.
I’d really like to see the Kugelblitz stay at BR3 to keep those planes in check.
I know its old disgussion but as user who using the xa-38 i need to say something.
Yes, this plane is extremely fast and good, but ANY, literally ANY decent fighter can take it out after few shots of 20mm.
This plane have absolutely no armor unlike to a-20 thats a lot harder to shot down. The 75mm as known need some skill to use, and the bombs are the one thing that makes it OP at all.

It’s made out of tissue paper btw. This is probably a good rule of thumb but don’t ever dive at max throttle with it. The wings come off when you pull up lol

Maybe left it in br3 with 3 bombs or something? There’s already bomber with 4 250 kg bombs in Allies TT so it wouldn’t be that good
Pretty much all BR 3 attacker airplanes are like this tbh, nothing special about XA-38. Well except the IL-2 it usually able to take up more shots before it could go down but it doesn’t really matter as it’s rather slow and eventually catches more bullets and die.
This is not true at all. Not only XA-38’s wing doesn’t come off even over at +600 TAS, but the control doesn’t really stiffen up at all even at that speed so it’s actually one of the most maneuverable attacker plane on BR 3. Just don’t use the flaps at high speed as it’s rather fragile one, it will come right off of course if you do that on high speed.
That’s every plane in the game, let an enemy get behind you and you just die 99% of the time.
This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard of this happening, and I fly it at max throttle every second I’m in it.
Nope, it’s not flaps, it’s not the plane clipping a tree or building neither. If it causes me to crash or to die, there’s no username tied to my death in the kill feed which would indicate the plane had been shot at.
It’s still a great plane and is extremely maneuverable but it’s got low resistance to g-force similar to the A-20. You would notice it happens more if you pull up into a corkscrew or wide turn instead of directly up after diving at max speed and steep angle. The tips of the wings rip right off.
