But for Achilles even if it CAN pen Panthers, it doesn’t do any post pen as there’s no modeled spalling damage…
Yes, I own the Achilles in Enlisted (due, it’s Commonwealth of course I do).
No, there’s no reason to use it in br4 over anything else of the br, other than for Commonwealth larping.

There is spall… 17 pounder actually does pretty decent dmg especially against medium to heavy vehicles

Not the Achilles but firefly. And Achilles is just m10 with 17 pounder. So yeah 17 pounder has spall
Well Dicker Max is BR III So I really don’t see reason people complain about the gun. I don’t own Achilles but I own the Firefly and I don’t see why would someone buy Achilles over the Firefly if they are on the same BR.

And I never said that Achilles shouldn’t be br 3. Just that it’d better than the br 3 76mm tanks and that the 17 pounder should be standard of br 4
But that more so says a lot about the 76mm high is objectively worse than even the 75mm in enlisted esp if u know weak spots

But it’s objectively worse at pretty much everything else. Hellcat is a better all rounder, better vs infantry at least.

Objectively and relatively theres not a scrap of difference for gun performance. Their speciality is tank destruction, and while they both have HE (thats not what you pick them for), 105mm and normal 75mm shermans at BR 3 are still better. (And only soft targets enemies at BR 3 so 75mm m61 shot is objectively better short of uptier)
For tank destruction either gun is going to LOL pen anything at BR 3 ( USA doesnt face heavy armor at BR 3…target selection is so bland compared to warthunder), and HE filler shells are pretty much guaranteed to over pressure crew everytime.
Even in uptier against heavies, Achillies (if it was BR 3) has “ONE” advantage on one specific target…with its APDS it “can” go through the front plate of a panther…
But its not hard to turret cheek a panther with Hellcat and over pressure the crew.
Solid shot is a cone projection afterpen, APHE is a 360 sphere detonation.
The mobility still counts and gives hellcat the ergonomic edge (albiet much less than warthunder)
If hellcat is BR 3, no reason achillies shouldnt be. They arent even needed, they are just flavor.
But as you said, you agree is BR 3. Could have just left it there

Cuz I’ve played the m10 and I’ve played with 17 pounder. Unlike u I can use a little imagination. Cuz Achilles is literally a m10 with a 17 pounder.

what I effectively said is “who cares”…the 105 Sherman and 75mm Sherman need no help in the HE department at BR 3

Apparently if something has a weaker stat in a category than something else that stat no longer matters and can be as bad as possible and no longer matter. also its on par with 75mm he nice try tho. Terrific logic there man
So the Shell is “on par” but the Sherman reloads faster, stabilizer, better turret rotation, not open topped turret AND hull mg gunner. What are you even arguing at this point…looking for that one point to be technically correct on to save face after war is over?

where did I say you did?.. “I” made reference to the 105 and the 75mm BECAUSE they are ALREADY BR 3 as a way to point out that the HE is “Not” a defining feature of the “achillies” and that even “IF” the Achillies moved to BR 3, it has more downsides than What is Already there
if you read objectively and weren’t attempting the “gotcha” argument, maybe there might be. Basically, we are agreed,…you are however going about it in a profoundly Stupid way.
