While most people are aware of the Mosin M91/30 Sniper Rifle variants, fitted at large scale with either a PE or PU scope, there also existed a variant of the Mosin M44L rifle mounting a PU scope. The Mosin M44L 24" barrel variant itself was limited in production in 1944 (approximately 22,500 units), about 200 rifles were also fitted with PU scope mounts and without bayonets for field trials.
For Enlisted, the Mosin M44L Rifle is arguably the best option for a Soviet tech tree BR 2 sniper rifle. The rifle is shorter and handier than the M91/30, and could also be given an increased fire rate (regular rifle and sniper rifle variants of the same weapon can vary in fire rate, such as the Pre-War Kar 98K rifles).

This would actually do pretty well for evening The odds between axis and USSR br2 snipers. Like stated the pre-war kar fires much faster than the regular kar 98. So this could definitely be something implemented for the Soviets.
A ton of premium content is already just TT equipment with minor changes.
– The G41 Sniper is Premium and just a TT gun with a scope
– Nearly all Legacy Premiums are just TT guns not normally available in that campaign’s TT
– The STG44(S) and Thompson M1(S) are just TT guns with a suppressor
– The US Paratrooper Premium is a TT gun with a bigger Mag
– The Axis Paratroopers are TT gun with bayonet or TT gun prototype
Premium weapons are just TT guns with minor changes. They have always been just TT guns with minor changes and complaining about it doesn’t change that fact.

Hm, maybe there are alternatives for Soviet Sniper rifles - the TT only has one rifle, imagine their Lever action with scope.

Do you seriously think these are logical comparisons? All of those are tech tree weapons with ADDED additions.
This is premium weapon… with sniper scope to add to tree… that’s nowhere near the same as g41 scoped and to act like it is quite frankly is just stupid.
Now yes this is just the other way around but i don’t think it’s healthy.
However is this such a big deal? I won’t say… but i’m not a fan of snipers getting added in any form unless it’s mannlicher scoped to compete with overpowered lee enfield sniper.
This had everything to do with finding an appropriate Mosin sniper rifle for BR 2, and not to “lessen” the value or uniqueness of a premium squad.
Please stop throwing insults at people just because you disagree with them. It’s not a good look.
