More on the nerf

I propose not nerfing automatic rifles in the way seen during the test, as this would negatively affect Specialists. Engineers, Anti-Tank Gunners, and Radio Operators would all find them uncomfortable to fire. This would leave only Assaulters with manageable recoil, which isn’t enough for Battle Rating 5. This nerf would simply make using automatic rifles unpleasant for all classes, not just standard infantry. We would end up with a Battle Rating where the gameplay is simply uncomfortable. Alternatives:

  • Reduce recoil control by 7% (as originally implemented in the first test)
  • Increase weapon spread to match machine gun levels
  • Reduce damage for all automatic rifles
  • Leave them as they are
  • Yes
  • No

or hear me out at the very least remove sf rifles from specialists in the rifleman squad so they have to choose between bringing specialist’s and mor sf rifle.s

I’m glad someone else feels the same way. Selective fire rifles filled a much-needed firepower gap for classes like engineers, radio operators, and AT gunners that can’t equip SMGs or MGs. Nerfing them makes no sense to me. People calling for SF nerfs in the name of “variety” don’t seem to realize that doing so would actually undermine class diversity by making those classes less viable in combat.

No to increasing spread but yes to damage

No! in 5 you get the option of having everyone equipped with auto rifles.

And nerfing engis? Ew.

is simple: don’t nerf recoil. Nerf the damage to 13.2.”

  • “Remove one‑shot kills from all automatic rifles
  • No, recoil should be increased without touching the damage

Quite sure the engineers can still build the bob the builder castles regardless of the gun they have.
And AA guns which is arguably the only reason to choose them.

Which is relatively pointless squad regardless can they carry SF or not.
Its grind once forget always squad since you can have AT soldier in every squad anyway.

While the current SF meta keeps the assaulters as completely useless.
MG squad, which anyway is rather useless.
And arguably everything else.

I don’t agree that assault squads and MGs are useless in the current SF meta. Fast-firing SMGs with good handling, such as the PPSh, are still very effective in close-quarters fighting indoors. Low-recoil ARs are well suited to picking off enemies with only their heads showing in windows, while MGs offer the rate of fire and sustained firepower needed to stop large infantry assaults.

For example, I wouldn’t consider the FG 42 a replacement for the MG 42, nor do I think the AVT-40 has made the PPSh obsolete. Even at BR V, ARs, SMGs, and MGs still have situations where they excel. I think it’s worth considering those strengths before concluding that selective fire rifles have made them irrelevant.

I like the MG42 100 for assault over the FG42

One way of looking at a nerf is balancing.

Is that such a bad thing?

Discuss.
