Im pretty new so havent tried out the dynamics of all the campaigns yet, how they work out and such.
But ive heard a lot of complaints about sniping tanks that cant be dealt with.
So we might have to think about more Inf AT weapons that can shoot tanks from long range. Dont have to be substantially hard hitter ones but at least so it can annoy them killing an gunner or two.
GRB was such a weapon but now on second thoughts Russia didnt have such a weapon either so they might experience hard times not being able if they didnt had an tank or plane around to be able to deal with it.How ever we have to be careful here to so the Tankers dont get an bad experience asw but to keep it fair for both sides.
Even if i think its the responsibility to deal with that threat with planes or tanks and even infantry if its even possible there might be matches they cant even be able to do such a thing.
Ive never experienced it in all my time in Moscow being an problem but i cant speak for the other maps…yet. But by looking at the AT capabilities you get as an infantry man i might see that there will be a problem if the maps dont go hand in hand with close and mid range AT engagements that is of which they where designed for
Dont think buffing the engineers to much either since that may open an Pandoras box to with spamming AT guns everywhere which will make it impossible being an Tank. Which is also one problem i think engineers can do. Its alright now in a way but you can put out a lot of stuff down with your engineers in one go so to speak
Moving AT guns will surely help out against tanks for engineers but then comes the other factor against Infantry since they also have HE and will become an mini tank on wheels. Perhaps making them rly slow incl turning could be an option
Originally in CBT all engineers in every squad could build AT guns. With them now being locked to only the engineer squad the amount of AT guns plus the fact they are tricky to build and cant be moved make them very rare and usually not worth it.
Fix the AT guns and it would solve alot of the problem
ah well no. Personally i think that will be to much as each squads should have their personal traits to.
Like radio squads has their short arty span and smoke barrages
Just the AT gun. Not MGs or AA. There was no issue with AT guns. The issue is we can’t just swap squads out in battle so whatever we have is it. More people who can build AT guns was never a problem
I haven’t faced any frequent trouble with any sort of Vehicle. As a Tank u face many threats, starting from At Rifles to Explosives, other Tanks, Aircraft, AT Guns and even mines.
Think the most problem is that most ppl don’t care about counter plays, AT squads are super underrated in my opinion well placed At Rifle shoot makes easy prey out of a tank (ofc depends on campagin but even a far sitting duck can be annoyed with shooting through the sight slits).
On Berlin u have Panzerfaust for both sides which seem to preforme real well.
Now like mentioned there’re many other threads, i think for almost all cases ppl don’t know or even don’t care to even counter a Tank/ Aircraft or whatever harrases your team.
But what also holds some ppl back is the lack of campagin progress which unlocks some tools but as u have always some players that have more or less unlocks it equals out quite well and is than again back tracked on ppl that don’t mind to properly take a counter.
Like it seems to me all anti tank ppl take with is Dynamite Bundles and a careful maneuvering Tanker knows that his flanks should usually be coverd by allied infantry to prevent getting bombed by those.
But some other times you have crazy rounds where tank after tank is approchign you in an attempt to knock u out, and the most harrasing is a decent pilot which just bloww any tank out of existence. But that Piolot than might has to face fighter planes, AA and so on.
Getting to the point (finally ) i don’t see any problem.
many have suggested to allow regular engineers to build weaker At guns(for example 37 mm pak 36 for both sides on moscow), so non engi squds arent completely hopeless
There are already planes, tanks and AT soldiers and the Engineers. Think giving that extra will be to much. Those are already effective enough and suit the other teams with what they need in providing ammo asw as spawn and some protection.
But maybe they could for support teams like MGs and Radiomen only but idk…i feel bad for light tankers if they will get every sq against them and wouldnt solve the issue anyways from long range tankers
These people obviously don’t know how to kill that tank ethier with another tank. a plane or long range personal AT weapon, Engineer AT gun or explosive pack.
Tanks are really easy to kill.
I don’t think there needs to be anymore long range anti tank capable weapons as the ones we have currently do fine.
Yeah idk about all these other campaigns how they work so its why im bringing this up. Some campaigns seems to have short range AT cap thats why i brought it as suggestion if its needed that is
as long as they fix the current AT options(give AT rifles actually usable damage, make shaped charge weapons consistesnt) i dont think we would actually need more options
I don’t really think there is anything to fix the shaped charge at weapons are great and the AT rifles require you to kill the crew, hit the ammo storage or hit the engine to set the tank on fire.
If the infantry AT weapons were anymore powerful I think tanks would be even more easy to kill and this is a bad thing.
The current effectiveness of the AT weapons in enlisted are fine you just have to hit the right areas on the tanks in order for them to be effective.
It really depends on enemy tank and your equipment. If you seen enemy Panther in the gray zone but all you have is Stuart then good luck with your advice. I have not unlocked late game AT weapons but those that come with AT trooper I are pure joke. AT gun is decent against low tier tanks but cannot pen high tier tanks frontally. They only somewhat reliable method is to blow them with TNT which is hard if they are far in the gray zone and there is huge open area to cross.
yes. One should not forget that you can one shot tanks with AT rifles to. They are pretty powerful for the experienced AT gunners and when you upgrade them you get even better power. Can be hard at the fronts though and on the sides on some tanks like the T-50 while the last tank Russians gets is easier
the problem with AT rifles is that half the time they dont even hit close to there you aim, and when they do they do utter garbage damage- often not even oneshotting crew, and struggling to explode ammo(if they dont decide to randomly non pen)
and shaped charges seem like they have literally RNG damage, i would rather them be consistently average than randomly doing nothing and randomly oneshotting
Having a PAK 36 would be interesting and not game breaking. Give Americans the M3 37mm as well.
Not sure what Russians could use for a small AT gun.
Also to add to your note maybe give Engineer IIs in Normandy the PAK 40 and M5 76 mm.
Also give Russians their AT 76mm in Berlin, tired of seeing Russians have to use German gear because theirs sucks and they need panzerfausts etc to compensate.
im pretty sure russians also had some 37 mm guns during moscow
in berlin it would be more fair for them to have 85 mm, 76 is too weak(maybe for the weaker non squad AT gun)
