The drilling rifle is named after its three barrels in gun only able to use two of its barrels being reduced to a double barrel shotgun. The us used a similar weapon the Savage 24 with a shotgun and 22 rifle ordering 15.000 in WW2.

Multi barrel guns are just that like the guns used by the USSR, Germany, and Japan. Only the US lacks one the Browning superimposed would be a great weapon. Double barrel like the side by side coach gun and over under bird gun. it might seem a bit silly but given the unwillingness to add pump action and autos to other factions a 3,4,5 barrel shotgun might just be added.
