Model 45A/B as USA BR5 sniper rifle

The Model 45A/B were experimental weapons developed by the United States military in the Philippines immediately following the end of World War II in 1945 (I will not delete my original description, but we do not actually know the exact time when the project started. The photo was taken in October 1945. The weapon was listed as a departmental project in the first week of September 1945, but letters from the designer indicate that design work on the gun had already begun before that. We cannot confirm whether it had a prototype made before September 2nd 1945.), designed primarily by Lieutenant Bob Millich.

It features a unique “Bullpup” design and a scope integrated inside the carry handle.
The 45A was described as a demonstration model in Ian McCollum’s article in 2014, but new information proves that it has a real mechanical structure. And it has an improved version, 45B. Which has an entirely new charging system, and a fully stamped receiver-buttstock shell.

Why as a sniper rifle?

  1. Model 45A/B has a scope
  2. USA in game doesn’t have any BR5 sniper rifle
  3. LMG in reality can be classified as other types of weapons in Enlisted, like Gorov LMG and Type Hei auto(Yes, it’s actually a LMG)

If Model 45A/B added to the game, it will be:
USA, BR5
Using the 20-round Browning BAR magazine
Have a low magnification scope
Fully automatic (Since it was categorized as LMG by the designer, it goes without saying. Although we do not know its exact fire rate)

Regarding Japan, another faction lacking high-BR sniper rifles, the Type Hei rifle can actually be equipped with a scope, but that’s another topic.

No more post-WW2 weapons, thank you.

Unless development started during the war, then I would consider switching my vote.

This is all i needed to hear. No thanks to post war guns unless you can prove it existed before the war ended

And how does it function? Also, I don’t really want to see a weapon created after World War II. Moreover, later versions of the T20 from Springfield Armory had the capability for attaching an optical sight.

So obviously NO.

Even if it was added, which it shouldn’t with it being developed after WW2, it shouldn’t go into the TT. It’s an extremely experimental weapon that barely a few of actually existed. There should be less prototypes in the TT, not more-

We cannot confirm whether it had a prototype before September 2nd 1945.

The designer’s letter did not mention when the first prototype was made.

Just give us the M2 Carbine with a scope, thus becoming the M3 Carbine with the M1 sniperscope and you have a BR5 sniper rifle. The M3 was used in Okinawa. The base gun already exists in game, just add a scope to the M2, rename it M3 and presto, BR5 sniper rifle that actually was used during the war.

The M3 used an infrared scope, which I don’t know if the dev’s can duplicate, but even if a basic scope were added IMOP that would be fine. The M2 is not going to wow anyone with it’s range anyway, but would still be cool with an infrared or regular scope.

There are also regular scope, but I’m not sure if they ever been installed on M2 or M3 carbine.
For semi-auto version, even with 30 rounds, it cannot reach BR4 or 5.
