I hear people talking about how they hate the train gamemode or conquest or what ever, while others love them very much.
It might be true that regular invasion is the “main bread and butter” of Enlisted, but a bit of diverse gameplay is still always welcome.
So now some of us are aware that “secondary objectives” somewhat already exist in Normandy in form of getting tickets for destroying them balloons.
I was wondering why not build upon this system and advance it with real secondary objectives.
For example the train gamemode could be combined with invasion, where the train would need to get pushed to the next stage of the map - prior to actually capturing the main objective - in order to get some tickets back, each time you do this, the train will appear again as a secondary objective and give again tickets back, however if you capture the main objective first, you would lose the train.
Other example, conquest mode could add two secondary objectives near each teams main base, those would need to be blown up by planting timed charges - successfully blowing them up would also get your team some tickets back.
Yeah instead of forcing people to play game modes they don’t like, or instead of removing unpopular game modes all together, tweaking and refining invasion with some twists, map specific secundary objectives and merging gamemodes togeether could bring some uniqueness to the invasion maps, instead of having too many gamemodes on their own.
I still think THIS would be the best solution for secondary objectives.
That said, it needs to be noted that “secondary objectives” should not be a REQUIREMENT to take the “primary” objectives, but rather be there as an additional resource or change the game in a dynamic way.
