Mauser c96 change and new variant

The mauser c96 for the soviets and Germans Is pretty goofy, for example it will always do a full reload even if only 1 round is fired, this is because doing a partial reload would take too long and would impede gameplay. But what if there was two variants of the Mauser c96 so that it wouldn’t use magic each reload.

Current “partial reload” for the c96:

The old c96:

I suggest that the old c96 should have it’s price dropped to 300 silver to be inline with more mid-range pistols:

Then it should have it’s reload time nerfed to 3.5 and should have to do partial reloads which will take longer depending on how much ammunition is left.

A new c96:

To fill the place of the old Mauser c96 a new one should be added that feeds from a detachable 10 round box magazine and is full auto and stockless:

The Devs can use the current Mauser m712 to achieve this:

I would like to see the German Mauser C96 become unique instead of using the same “bolo” which was exported to Russians.

No such gun exists, afaik/can find, and while I’m tolerant of paper guns and tanks and such, I’m not in favor of the community inventing guns for purpose.

There’s plenty of C96 variants that aren’t in the game and would be different enough to justify adding. Germans get the Red 9, US/Western Allies could get the French police guns and maybe even the Shanxi Type 17 since chinese squads and weapons are showing up.

To solve the reload problem, I’d just drop the price on the c96 and actually animate the partial reloads. Right now there’s no reason no to use them if you have the option, two extra rounds over the TT or Luger/Walther and fast reloads is a good deal. To replace it at the top of the pistol tree, Axis should get Browning Hi-Power, since they actually had them and there’s no reason it should be unique to the Allies.

I’ll edit it to fit the facts, I must of been wrong because I was under the impression a box fed non full auto existed.

Edit: it now says the new version would be full auto. For clarification: the new version is a stockless 10 round m712 mauser c96. The 10 round box definitely exists.

Okay, so.

Big ol’ nope on standard full auto handgun. Keep them event weapons.

Now, you could give the axis Astra 903s standard, I can’t find anything saying they were actually used, but it’s plausible, and would give us an entry from Francoist Spain

A 10 round full auto pistol won’t be half as good as the event variant with it’s stock and double magazine capacity, in fact because it’d be stockless players would probably be better of using them in semi automatic, perhaps the guns should be set to semi auto by default to encourage this.

Sorry, still disagree. Even at ten rounds, full auto backup on every soldier is make-or-break in cqb. “Not half as good as the event variant” is still too much better than the semi-auto options when you can hot swap to them either when your main is empty or not ideal for close quarters
