Mannlicher M1890 Cavalry Carbine Siamese

This post will have the least information of the previous two (SMLE III Siamese and Mannlicher M1888 Siamese ) because information is scarce, but I think it’s enough to make a post.

In 1897, in an attempt to keep up with their British, French and Chinese neighbors, the kingdom of Siam purchased 15,000 Mannlicher M1888 and M1888-90 rifles and 6,000 Mannlicher M1890 Carbines (both known in Siamese service as the Type 33) from Osterreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft of Steyr.

(The year of 1890 in the Gregorian calendar is equivalent to the year of 2433 in the Buddhist calendar (Siam adopted the Buddhist Calendar in 1913) that’s where the 33 of Type 33 Rifle comes from)

Since there is no mention of a bayonet, it is probably the Mannlicher M1890 Cavalry Carbine, which is the only variant of the Mannlicher M1890 that does not have a bayonet lug

Thai Event Squad

:white_check_mark: Availability
It would be a new weapon in the game in an event squad with a new sub-faction that many players would likely want to play the event and the Japan faction would have a bolt-action rifle that allows aiming between shots

:white_check_mark: Gameplay Purpose & Role
Would fill the gap of a bolt-action rifle that allows aiming between shots in Japan faction.

The Mannlicher M1890 Cavalry Carbine should be added to the game?

Thank you for your post.

Good research and I would welcome this to Enlisted.

I would like to see it in the tech tree with a specific Thai squad, similar to how we have an Australian squad as 1st Agas.

As you state Japan deserves a bolt action that allows for continued aimining. The Mannlicher M1888 could be an option, or this.

No reason why we couldnt have both in the tech tree, but Id like to see at least one added to TT and then we can worry about events/premium etc.

It would be really cool if we had a Thai squad in TT

I prefer the Mannlicher M1888 because it has a bayonet, but I wouldn’t see a problem if both were added to the TT
