We likely, at least for now, won’t be doing this - artillery was specifically designed by devs to not make players know which is which. The main reason is because it has no friendly-fire; if it did, we could expect everyone to get constantly annoyed and upset due to “team griefing”. So, you can’t friendly-fire with it, and the middle-ground is therefore that you can’t “see” which is yours or not - so it’s designed for you to not know which one is which.
That being said, players just learning the maps and gameplay may be able to figure it out quite quickly for almost all cases anyway, based off of where the artillery is called (and the shape of it if you mean bombing runs/airstrikes), so it’s not overly difficult. Only edge cases are when both teams keep calling it on the objective directly.
This still doesn’t address a big issue with Sabo and Guerillas. Firstly, you cannot see the whole now “greyzone” which you’re not supposed to access. If you don’t remember the whole greyzone, you will keep just “bumping” one greyzone after another, causing you to die, let alone the trail of bots you have as well because they have no brain and are not able to avoid these zones. Secondly, most tank spawns are still “locked” behind infantry spawn, meaning you basically cannot get behind to kill greyzone tanks (the main purpose of guerillas and Sabo). Something has to be done about this.
Could there be a change such that arty strike actually comes from the top down, instead of at an angle? There are quite a lot of maps which causes the point to be obscencely one sided because of arty being unable to cut of their backline/hit a main rally due to the angle which the arty “strikes”, nullifying the use of arty.
The paratroopers still converge at the landing point, making them very easy to kill still…
Is it the intention of the developers that the arty strike is 99% the exact same size as the objective circle “icon” on the map, causing the arty to be “hidden” behind it? Especially on Conquest, the points cover the arty circle completely.
It’s good to see red circles for guerrillas getting an improvement, but this was not the biggest problem with them. The biggest problem with them is that the game only shows you one forbidden spawn circle at a time, while on many maps, there are actually several of these spawn zones you can’t go in, often overlapping. So you’ll run out of the one shown on your map, only to run into another that was overlapping with it, and wasn’t shown. Because the game only shows one at a time on your map.
When will radio operators be allowed to use a second weapon type? For example, shotguns.
It’s so incredibly lame that they’re forced to have two weapon slots with the backpack slot permanently locked (even though most people use the backpack slot for ammo pouches that are on their belt and don’t even interfere with the radio itself) and are only able to use rifle-type weapons.
Why would any soldier be carrying two weapons of the same type. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s just immersion breaking, it looks goofy.
When will there be an update that Bombing Run no longer blocks arty strike?
There are way too many occasions where there is some radioman squad in your team just camping in the back spamming bombing runs, this prevents the rest of the team who have other radioman to just call in arty strikes to an area that actually needs it.
Not only that, bombing runs are useless 90% of the time, they take forever to bomb as well.
They should allow for arty strike to be concurrent with bombing runs
If this does happen, they have to color the arty strike inside the bombing run to be a different shade, otherwise you can’t tell if there is any arty strike within a bombing run (already an issue right now btw)
A much bigger problem for me, killing my Saboteur several times, was the fact that the red circle around the spawn area is jumping in an unpredictable direction because the spawn area is apparently bigger than the circle dispayed on the map. If the spawn area has a different shape or size, just make the shape on the map cover the whole area, and not teleport in front of me when I’m running out of it.
Will be nice if they also make the event radio operators able to carry snipers like the soviets premium can will make them unique not useless like they are now…
I think you are both wrong. The bodyarmor should be accessible only for units which had access to it in reality. Needless to say, it should have some effect, as it wasn’t worn just for show.
