Making Enlisted a Better Place №74

Each issue of our series focuses on a certain aspect of the game or a particular mechanic, in which we correct smaller, but noticeable bugs and add new interesting features.

In the name of science!

Radio operators in your armies can change the course of battles, but it takes practice to master their radio calls. To help you get used to them, we reduced their cooldown in practice mode to 5 seconds, so you can experiment and test their mechanics without unnecessary pauses!

I definitely shouldn’t go there

Guerrillas and-Saboteurs, soldiers operating behind enemy lines, periodically run into the problem of red circles on the map. In the heat of battle, it can be unclear whether it’s an airstrike, artillery strike, rocket artillery or you’ve simply gotten too close to the enemy’s spawn point.

For this reason, we’ve recolored the circles of enemy spawn points to gray. This makes it immediately obvious where the real danger lies and which areas you should steer clear of to avoid running straight into a spawning enemy squad.

Scatter!

Landing in a tight formation often cost paratroopers their lives, even while still in the air. We’ve adjusted the paradrop logic, so soldiers now land in a slightly wider area. They won’t be such an easy target for the enemy anymore.

The trees will no longer save you!

Shouldn’t explosion packs and TNT charges destroy trees? Well, we’ve fixed them and once again you can turn a forest into a lovely clearing … with a few extra craters!

We’ve also fixed the stat cards of the Panzerfaust 60 and the GrB-39. They now display the correct penetration values. Plus, we’ve melted the snow that occasionally appeared on summer maps. After all, it did not fit the season.

We appreciate your feedback!

Lots of exciting game mechanics have been implemented or improved thanks to your ideas. We regularly collect your feedback and suggestions from all platforms, including our forum.

So discuss, share and suggest!

Even the unbreakable tree that tank cant break? or just the tree that tank can break?

Cause there’s some tree that wont be destroy no matter what.

This depends a lot on waiting for success in WT with it as they recently re-enabled them. You may remember they had to enable and disable it 3-4 times already due to issues. When we’re informed it’s all fine, we can revisit it for Enlisted too.

Cool being able to properly clear trees with tnt now, and spreading out paras as they drop.

Well WE want it keep …

I’m glad this was a bug/error and not “haha snowy Berlin in may is gameplay VARIETY” situation.

Can you confirm which maps were fixed?
Just Bahnhof or more?

Foldable/Unfoldable Bipods. Please.

Even BFV has that as a feature

We likely, at least for now, won’t be doing this - artillery was specifically designed by devs to not make players know which is which. The main reason is because it has no friendly-fire; if it did, we could expect everyone to get constantly annoyed and upset due to “team griefing”. So, you can’t friendly-fire with it, and the middle-ground is therefore that you can’t “see” which is yours or not - so it’s designed for you to not know which one is which.

That being said, players just learning the maps and gameplay may be able to figure it out quite quickly for almost all cases anyway, based off of where the artillery is called (and the shape of it if you mean bombing runs/airstrikes), so it’s not overly difficult. Only edge cases are when both teams keep calling it on the objective directly.

This still doesn’t address a big issue with Sabo and Guerillas. Firstly, you cannot see the whole now “greyzone” which you’re not supposed to access. If you don’t remember the whole greyzone, you will keep just “bumping” one greyzone after another, causing you to die, let alone the trail of bots you have as well because they have no brain and are not able to avoid these zones. Secondly, most tank spawns are still “locked” behind infantry spawn, meaning you basically cannot get behind to kill greyzone tanks (the main purpose of guerillas and Sabo). Something has to be done about this.

Could there be a change such that arty strike actually comes from the top down, instead of at an angle? There are quite a lot of maps which causes the point to be obscencely one sided because of arty being unable to cut of their backline/hit a main rally due to the angle which the arty “strikes”, nullifying the use of arty.

The paratroopers still converge at the landing point, making them very easy to kill still…
