Let’s be honest here, auto rifle spam is effectively the meta in BR5, and it’s not a pretty one. If you make all the autorifles as controllable as the Fedorov(25) is in full auto, which is to say not particularly controllable at all, some semblance of balance will be restored. You might argue, then assaulters would get spammed! Yes, that’s true. But the most assaulters you can get in a squad is via premium or event squads with 5 men, while every other squad will get 3 at most unless you’re using tank crews or guerillas horribly wrong. Compare that to a 9-man squad of guys with full-auto laser beams.
Why is it too much? Select fires should be weaker than specialist weapons. They’ll still be good for semi auto fire and have high capacity compared to other br
Honestly dude, when it comes to assaulter weapons I typically use drum smg’s and even use br4 guns like the m21/28 more than I use assault rifles. Although I can say assault rifles are just as easy to use and get kills with as select fire rifles are.
I like all the other weapons of br 5 and I want to enjoy br 4 more. Also anytime you say you want a change in the future imma tell you to just not play the game.
Yeah there’s a good number of br4 guns and squads that are fun to use it’s just you often see uptiers with br4.
And here I thought the exchange would be casual but here we go. Br5 is not what makes up the entire game. So what you said here was an attempt to gaslight, when all I said was there’s other BR brackets where you wouldn’t see auto rifles. And even in BR5, assaulter squads are still viable and can be as good as said meta.
This isn’t a difference of view. Select fires break the game. They outrank specialist weapon and create too much of a gap between br 4 and 5. And in their current state it’s impossible for specialist weapons to outrank them enough to be worth giving up rifleman squads.
The only ones that potentially have a use here is rd44. Everything else had bad movement. Bad damage. Bad velocity. Or not enough of a meaningful upside.
Even federov is basically just a select fire with 5 more shots and that’s it.
Assaulter 4’s with max roll can have both 12% reload speed by default, and then have enough points to get sprint speed and other movement perks. Unlike riflemen where the fastest they can go without sacrificing points needed for crouch and prone movement speed is 5.3%. So assaulters are all around good. Machine gunners are always situational since the weapons used are gonna hinder their speed, putting a sword on them would mitigate that problem. Though machine gunner’s purposes lay in defense.
