Major Issue: Defenders having absolutely no chance at the start of the game


I know that I’ve brought it up before, but this latest game (featured in the above screenshot) vividly shows my point. There needs to be some kind of period at the start of the game for defenders to set up SOMETHING for a defense.

SUGGESTIONS:
(At least one if not more of these)

  • Give a bare minimum of 30-60 sec at the start of the game for defenders to set up.

  • Allow defenders to choose where they wish to spawn at the start of the game.

  • Disable explosive and fire damage for the first 30 sec of the game.

  • Rework the first objectives to have very heavy defenses as basic terrain. (Personal favorite)

SOMETHING.

I know it definitely screws the defenders out of the first objective pretty much every game due to how easy it is to wipe out the entire point with explosives and flamethrowers.

I think this would help with late joining to match as well.

Tbh I suspect that first objectives are purposefully quite easy to capture.

For example dday should be a slaughter at the beach but if allies have 2 braincells, they can quite reliably cap it.

If the defending team is full of bots, this happens whether its a grenade or a large caliber HE shell, the entire defending team gets massacred. Real players would spread around but the problem is the stupid matchmaking with the late joins instead of making the game with both teams starting properly.

Funny thing is that they “fixed” this like a year or two ago.
