Maybe you should apply at gaijin for their WT balancing department.
There you can see how beloved the “spreadsheet says Xyz is fun” mentality is.
Repair prices where based on vehicle perfomance in the past which meant for some rare vehicles only a select few amount of players could afford to use it without going bankrupt. As a result only the best players where playing such vehicles which in turn only made the reenforced the same issue.
Meanwhile vehicles that were appealing to the masses had plently of kinda trash players dilluting the statistics. As a result the rare overtiered vehicle was by that metric more powerfull (and thuse more picey) than the actual best in slot vehicles at the same BR.
Event the data set has some glaring indicators that the data is very unreliable since
BP Kv is somehow noticably stronger than TT KV1
but the most blatant indicator that your data is flawed is the fact that the BP Ho-I is somehow number 7 but the TT Ho-I is not even in the top 16.
And well the Chi ha with its 57mm gun beeing OP is also very funny as it really is not with just 55mm of pen.
So if you want to compare rare event and premium tanks with TT tank without accounting for this kind of bias then you really only demonsrate the issue of relying on numbers without actually understanding what they mean.
it becomes obvious when you actually think about it. who has BP KV and who has regular TT KV? BP/premium/event are usually bought or earned by players who invest more time in game and thus are more skilled than f2p casual players who dont have them.
my whole argument is if OP is relying on same stats to show that 105mm sherman is OP, then that same table is showing 8 other tanks that are more OP than 105mm sherman and should be moved a tier up. #equalityforall
It is a great logic. If cant win face to face, snipe it if not, flank it, if not, attack from rear, if not, attack from above,if not,.that’s your problem
I used to use planes for that, but for some reason, my plane controls stopped working after the latest updates, so I had to give it up. You also rarely see Axis planes at low BRs, and besides, they usually don’t have very powerful bombs.
The Bf 110 series should be lowered to BR 2 and 3 at the very least; after all, they are nowhere near agile enough to compete with the P-51 or the P-38.
Yeah, but the one with the 37mm cannon at BR 4 ends up having to face jets, so it would be good if they at least lowered its BR; after all, there are planes with rockets even at BR 2—that’s why BR 3 is the acceptable limbo of matchmaking.
This tweak feels less like a buff and more of a nerf overall.
We have to admit it’s extremely effective against infantry. But when it comes to tank-versus-tank combat, its battle rating in War Thunder is only 2.7. Opponents like the Tiger and Panther sit at 5.7 to 6.0.
I don’t think adding this HEAT round will let this tank reliably take down Tigers or Panthers.
As things stand, high-explosive shells are already more than enough, since HE is its primary ammunition type. Even if its HEAT can penetrate Tigers and Panthers, the performance will end up comparable to the T-34/57’s.
105mm Sherman unironically being better at killing Tiger/Panther than any of the US BR 3 tanks. Yes even better than the ones with 76mm gun such as M18 and M10. This is because 105mm HE can overpressure Tiger and Panther easily and overpressure instantly destroys any tank in one shot.
