Currently in game we have the m31 or 31m an evolution of the s200 by hungary through switzerland that landed in Germany. to this i would like to add the 8x56mmR M43 an Hungarian version. they differ mainly in that the 30 had 25 rounds and the 43 30 of a different caliber being the slightly smaller 7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge. this would make a perfect battle pass br2 though it could be a tt side grade. the bottom of the two in the first pick feels lie a 43 as the magazine is not as curved as the 30 should be.
That’s just a Solothurn 31M.
43M is very rare since it was just a emergency conversion of the 31M to 8mm Mauser (from 8x56 Mannlicher) and was supplied to units that already received rifles in Mauser ammo, but not the MG42 (which was licensed made in Hungary).
Honestly, considering that most Battle Pass guns are one of a kind protoype weapons that exploded the moment they tried to fire them.
Making the 43M a BP gun would be questionable.
500-1500 43M were made which doesn’t sound a lot, but is significant in Hungarian quantities (considering that the Royal Hungarian Army was small).
comparing it to the fg42 that made like a 1000 fg 42 1 and twice as many fg 42 2’s so what do you suggest
event or premium , tech tree might be redundant
There is no point in making it TT since that should be the 31M.
Since MG30 is also premium, it’s a bit unideal for that.
The best middle ground would be a Hungarian border guard / mountain troops event squad.
Only suspected image of 43M to date (it’s hard to tell).
It’s my personal speculation but I think these machine guns were only supplied to said troops based on pictures (normal late war Hungarian infantry with 8mm Mauser weapons have MG42). It’s worth noting that both 8mm Mauser and 8mm Mannlicher were kept in use until the end of the war.
we already have a tech tree and a premium so an event squad. great info , with weapons like this it is often almost impossible to tell the difference. id like to see a Hungarian unit in the game even if people group Austria, Hungary and Germany in the same box.
