Inland was selected to develop a carbine based on the experimental M1E7, with an integral receiver mount to accommodate the infrared sight. The modified carbine fitted with the T120 scope and infrared lamp was tested by the Ordnance Dept. Engineering Board and recommended for limited procurement on Feb. 17, 1944, as the “Carbine, Caliber .30, T3, Sniperscope.” The recommendation was approved on March 16, 1944.
The first production contract for 1,700 T3 carbines was granted to Inland, but the company manufactured only 811 before the contract was terminated due to the war ending. Likewise, Winchester Repeating Arms Co. subsequently received production contracts for 5,160 T3 carbines but turned out only 1,108 by the time the contracts were cancelled soon after V-J Day.
I would love to see a 10 round m1 carbine at br1 but one bridge at a time. The M1E7 was used in WW2 and built in numbers before the end of the war. It is likely the gun was used with and without the inferred scope. A M1E7 with a regular scope would make a great low br event weapon. The M1 carbine being a unique weapon in its caliber and mass employment. Thank you winter storm for pointing it out.
BR II absolutely some might even argue that simply because of it being a semi-auto marksman’s rifle it should be Br III but it’s cool M1 carbine variant that should be in the game.
sure it just has to kill two soldier with every hit, so fire four bullets that can hit two targets, or are we moving the tiger 2 to br 8
i have said some stupid things but you have me beat hands down
Yeah happy to see you recognize yourself as well
And you know what I mean to be br5 you would have to get one body hit on a soldier and two enemy soldiers are downed or drop dead
Every faction has unique stuff, placed at aproperiate BRs. Germany has low BR ARs, Japan has buyable swords, USSR has great mid-BR tanks, and many more stuff I haven’t mentioned are unique in the game’s factions, at their own approperiate BRs
its a ten round semi auto that takes two hits to down or kill again the garand is br 3 with a scope how is this comparable, its based on the m1 carbine the 15 round m1 carbine is br2 how does adding a scope and removing 5 bullets equal br3
The M1 Carbine is BR2 with a 15 round magazine, and to be honest, by adding a scope and deleting five rounds from the magazine wouldn’t warrant anything other then BR2, and leaving it with a 15 round magazine is still BR2. The range on the M1 Carbine is not great anyway, so adding a scope is not going to make it any more powerful at distance then it already is. It isn’t going to be an earth shattering addition, just a cool one.
If the Germans or Italians had a similar rifle like the Scotti X or the Armaguerra Model 39 that had a scope, even as an experimental I would be fine with adding a scope.
