This could be a special event weapon. In many historical pictures, you can see that the M1 carbine was carrying a magazine pouch on its buttstock. An M1 carbine could be added as an event weapon, which would also have a function, namely that you could carry +2 magazines with you, which would be extremely useful for soldiers such as radio operators or medics. (I would imagine the weapon with a bayonet, of course, and made of wood of a color that does not resemble the one in the tech tree.)

Iā€™d rather they just replace the current model with this one. Iā€™m not a fan of the light wooden colour of the current model.

Me neither. But the developers could change the color. I would keep this as an event weapon.
