Georg Luger, famously known for his pistol design, created prototypes of a self loading rifle in 8x57 caliber. It only had a capacity of 5 rounds and reloaded with stripper clips.
While Germany has several BR2 semi auto rifles, they are all of Italian origin. There are no “native” designs so to speak for the German faction.
I propose adding the Luger M1906 rifle to BR2 Germany as an alternative to the Armeguerra rifle. The Luger rifle would feature 1 less bullet but naturally have higher damage due to the larger caliber. It would be a slight trade-off depending if the user prefers damage or capacity.
While I believe it would be good in the tech tree, the rifle was never formally adopted so adding it as a battlepass or event rifle is acceptable too.

As Groot said it would also be an option in versing the Fedorov rifle.
While it was only a prototype Id rather this in tech tree than a lot of other stuff that has been added.

Currently, Germany has the worst semi-automatic rifle in 2 BR.
I am starting to think that BR2 semis generally are a mistake.

I’m honestly tired of prototypes being put in the RT. I don’t mind them in game but it just peeves me a little bit. I know some say we’re all using prototypes anyway so who cares but I just think the RT should be standard issue only. Prototypes should be special.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the Japanese research tree includes the Type Hei and Otsu rifles. If the Germans get them too, it will be very bad for the US, since the Americans don’t have a decent rifle in their research tree—only the M1 Carbine, which is a small-caliber weapon I’m not particularly fond of.

I agree, please add it to the technology tree! I am tired of using Armaguerra Mod. 39, and its damage is clearly not comparable to that of Fedorov 1912…

Without a doubt, the Winchester M1895 is the most beautiful and powerful bolt-action rifle in this game, even though it is actually a lever-action rifle but classified as a bolt-action in-game. Right behind it is the Mannlicher rifle.
I wouldn’t say that. While it’s certainly beautiful the SMLE/No. 4 MkI are better bolt action rifles. The fact that the SMLEs hold twice as many rounds and have a bayonet while only sitting a short distance behind the Winchester in damage and rate of fire makes them better.
I disagree. This is a shooter game where the player who lands the first shot wins. In a fast-paced game, especially with bolt-action rifles, having a faster rate of fire and higher damage to secure a one-shot kill is significantly more critical than having extra rounds in the mag or a bayonet. The Winchester M1895 lets you down targets faster, and that is what actually wins gunfights.
I’m talking about semi-automatic rifles in the progression system, not bolt-action rifles.
As for rifles, my favorite option in the US research tree is the SMLE.
M1 Carbine on BR II is extremly good after the ROF buff and even better then Armaguerra / Scotti
