The ability to change the primary weapons of premium squads would benefit the usefulness of these squads and help players personally customize them and/or make them more historically accurate.
For example the TZ-45 premium squad that is based on the
“1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler”
is rather unrealistic in that they use a late-war Italian SMG instead of a German weapon. Letting the player change the weapons to MP40s or STG44s, for example, greatly improves immersion and the player’s freedom of squad customization.
Also squads like for example the MG42 early premium that is based on the
“2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich”
That is advertised as to be fighting in the battle of Moscow cannot do this because of their gun being locked to battle rating 4; this also locks over half of their customization options behind battlefields that cannot be accessed by them.

Letting the player change the primary weapons and therefore the battle rating of these premium squads would also bring new life into (older) rarely used before squads; this would also make more players buy these premiums.
For example letting the premium Fallschirmjäger engineer squad use FG42s.

If yes, then we come to the next questions of balacing.:
Question:
Many of these come with engineers that use premium weapons, and should these engineers be allowed to use weapons of the same type (Example: the MG42 early engineers can use other MGs)?
Question:
After unequipping premium weapons, should these be available to other (maybe non-premium) squads? (Example: giving the silenced STG44 to the assault engineers)?
I need my Vickers K in a reasonable squad… so, yes. And for everythign else… more choices in how you customise and equip your soldiers has something I believed in.
It is, after all, what seperates and makes Enlisted unique as a video game, and ultimately why I started playing the game in the first place (never liked FPS, don’t really consider myself a fan of the genre now either). Expanding this system is thus not just reasonable, but desireable.
Besides, I own my squads and equipment, do I not? I should be able to use them freely as well…
I mainly buy premiums for the squads, not the weapon. Because of this, there are plenty of premiums that I avoid buying because I don’t want the weapon. If they made this change, I would spend a lot more money on this game. I would swap my TZ-45 in favour of an MP40 or MP35 in an instant if they made this change!

I feel like weapons of the same class as the premium squad. For example, if a premium assault squad engineer uses a smg, then it should be able to use any smgs.
I’ve been beating the UNLOCK PREMIUM and EVENT squads drums for quite a long time. My main reason is because unlocking them makes them available to use in “ALL BR LEVELS”, which is nice when people (LIKE ME) have spent way too much money buying too many premium squads. I literally have too many premium squads at certain BR levels which makes some unusable. So, unlocking the weapons means I can USE THEM ALL in what ever BR level I need.
The Dev’s need to stop micro managing their premium/event squads and to throw those who are paying and SUPPORTING this game a bone. It literally hurts no one to have these squads unlocked. For those who say it would ruin their “uniqueness or collectibility”? This is a video game, and once this game ends, there is nothing unique or collectible, which means all the people who purchased squads and weapons just lost their money. So, it’s time to stop micro managing and unlock the weapons. Let people who have been financially supporting this game have more customizing options.

Is there a perticular premium weapon you have in mind…? Because I can’t come up with one that would be any more over-powered than an equivelant BP or event weapon…
Premium BR IV rifles with 20-round mags are on the same level as their BP and event peers…
Only ones I could come up with that could potentially be too good are BR IV German “MG 42 Early” and “MG 45” - though one would think that having 25% to 50% less ammo than tech tree equivelants in BR V would still make them fair enough… The MG 42 Early being comparable to MG 15 and MG 45 being comparable to MG 81, that is.
I mean, are the Allies going to get any better MGs than the BR V Stinger and BR III BAR? Or a better BR IV rifle than the Farquar-Hill…?
The Belt-fed DP is basically just a Bren Mk I drum, except with better disperion but no bipod.
The MG 13 is now matched by the recent BP drum Lathi.
The Type 1 SMG isn’t any more cracked than the TT Type 100 Early.
Whilst premiums are more often than not at least somewhat better than tech tree stuff, the same can be said for other rare weapons in game, and in theory some of those are available in greater numbers than premiums.
I’m actually quite satisfied with the game, premium weapons don’t feel unfairly good or P2W, certainly not dominating to the degree that some event vehicles have been (looking at you, Spitfire Mk IX and XA-38 Grizzly).
An MG-42 early’s or 45’s only advantage is firerate. Which also is sometines a nerf, because it makes it a nightmare to fire while shooting. That’s why people don’t use the MG-81 that much. And the Krieghoff is widely regarded as worse than a standard FG-42 II. Kiralies you can get for free, unless the 43M has some sort of hidden advantage There are also suppressed variants of standard weapons that arr freely available to be switched armound, but they’re not OP, noone is complaining about the Erma or PPD BraMit
