A long time ago AA guns were able to shoot ground targets. Every faction was using the same potent quadruple barrel flak, but still. I never thought this was a problem, but eventually forced AA to only shoot the sky. I think AA guns should able to shoot the ground again
In real life AA guns were often used against infantry.
I don’t know why AA guns are such a problem when you get killed by numerous other things. AT guns, MG Nests, HMGs, etc; but AA guns get nerfed?
Allowing AA guns to shoot the ground gives them more versatility
honestly I assumed this suggestion was more about buffing their damage to be even half sensical, a 20mm round should be 1 shotting infantry, while in game I swear some infantry can tank like 3 20mm rounds.
Though Im puzzled by all those saying AA guns can shoot at the ground again. I thought they still had that annoying 5 degree or whatever it is angle so you couldnt shoot at the ground.
This is wrong because it interferes with anti aircraft capabilities for when an aircraft is flying low or further away.
Like you GlitBurrito I never found AA against infantry to be that much of an issue, greyzone tanks are what ruins the game.
The Polsten and Ta Se gun would be rather lame against infantry in my opinion.
I do think the M13 .50 cals need to be fixed though. You shoot like 2 rounds and they overheat. This was when they were exclusively in the Pacific against Japan but now they are used everywhere and should be able to be used for a reasonable amount of time before overheating.
The irony is that due to the overheat thing the M13 is basically useless as an SPAA which is its main purpose. It’s not very good against infantry either so there’s little reason to use it at all.
