I like the idea but because I have mania of reloading I often end up with 15 SMG rounds in 4 magazines.
I would like to see option to manage my ammo. My proposal is to add new menu that shows when you hold R key (of course it would need to be long enough to avoid doing it by accident).
One of options in this new menu will be to rearrange ammo so you have few full mags instead of many almost empty ones, with proper animation that is long enough to discourage you from doing this during gunfight.
Other options it may have is to change ammo type, for example AP rounds or tracers. Or option to change magazine type, for example change 50 rounds belt to 200 rounds belt (more about changing ammo belts in this post: GPMG - discussion).

I like this. But I do think it should take some time to refill the magazines.

Developers deleted the CRUE like inventory system… The new one didnt make things simpliefier, but more annoying ammo and picking weapons system.
that works
because everyone took off the useless helmet etc that didnt grant any damage resistance but did slow people down.
I would like to avoid inventory system. The game is ment to be quite fast FPS, not RPG.
But they simpliefied it too much. The only thing you can drop/pick is the 1st weapon.
They should at least give us functions to pick both main weapons/grenade.
BTW, developers had added lots of weird functions thats deviate from “quick/arcade”, like recent using others’ weapons give you a ridiculous recoil .
I don’t agree. It’s not scavenger simulator where you try to pick the best gear left after dead soldiers. Soldier is given weapon and has to deal with it.
Agreed. But I do not mind having a bit more options, like carrying more or less ammo, helmet or baret, etc. get more protection/ammo/whatever in trade for weight.

With this I can agree. But it would be main menu option, not accesable during the battle.
Yes, soldiers would (almost) never transfer ammo mid battle unless they had a seriously long down time, it takes a very long time and leaves you utterly defenseless.
