Lack of diversity

So are there plans to add more than Caucasian and Asian characters as well as females to at least the USSR campaigns.

We already have. You mean more faces in general? I would personally like each faction to have unique faces first like the Bri`ish and Italians do.

the entire soviet army is Asian, and Britain, Italy and Germany are Caucasians and females were either medics or snipers with snipers women being apart of the soviet army and weren’t common

Soviets did also had female machine gunners, AA gunners, pilots, (including the most successful night bomber squad of the war, The night witches), and more. (Those are the ones I remember on the spot).

I think there needs to be a clear distinction between the type of diversity that stays true to history (like the ones you mention) and the type of diversity that Bf5 already tried and only got praise for it from western politics and media (like having a black amputee woman lead a squad of german rifleman). I’m pretty sure noone would have any problems with one of these two.

The English military was not segregated, and there were colored people in England in the '40s. There were plenty of Hispanics and non-black colored people in the US military. I’m not sure about the Italian army, but they did have a significant number of troops from their African colonies, and being a Mediterranean nation, they had plenty of olive and dark skinned citizens

In that we agree. I don’t like people just throwing around all sort of random fictional characters in a historical setting just for BS political reasons.
In fact the irony with BS such as BF5 is that they only succeed in insulting the real men and women of different backgrounds that fought in such conflicts, and it is even more insulting if you take in account that those people more often than not had to go thru a lot of tragedies and effort just to get to the battlefield.

i’m aware of this but they weren’t common, though Hispanics mostly units where in the pacific my great grandfather likely fought in one of those units so if there is correct context for it then i’m all for it but the issue is how should they implement it

I agree: add a historically accurate % drop of colored troops to appropriate nations and campaigns.

If they do a late-war pacific campaign I’d love to see a premium Aztec Eagle p-47

if you mean unhistorical diversity, play bf5

There’s also something I’ve never really heard anyone ask from the people who asked for Bf5’s diversity: why they wanted it so bad. Because I’m pretty sure a lot of them would have trouble explaining that it isn’t because they want to see them get shot…

Thats because if you didn’t under the soviet regime, you got slapped with a tenner (10 years in the gulag)

Since they already add black soldiers (gold coin squad) here, I think it will be nice to add newer faces.
I would be appreciate if devs do add Asian faces in the game. (I heard of some Chinese tourists went to Moscow and was mistake for local Asians. There’s lots of Asian in USSR/Russia even back in WW2)

Women that fought in the side of the Soviets, many times had to insist to recruiters and demonstrate either an iron will or a an exceptional military skill to join the red army. Most of the time recruiters on the Soviet side wanted to send women to the factories, so they could help produce the equipment needed for the war, specially since they lost a ton of gear in the starting months of the war, due to Stalin’s arrogance, and forced inaction.

Why do we need Asians again?
They dont make sense in Moscow and besides they are already present with Mongolian faces.
Nearly 5% of the Red Army were women. People who say they were “common”, are bad in math or are far-lefties.

I completely agree: roughly 5% of the soviet soldiers in the game should be women to represent the actual forces present. The same should be done for all the many non-white individuals who participated in the battles represented

Except that such numbers includes soldiers in logistic, second-line, garrison, military police, artillery, radio etc. The Allied forces (especially the Europeans) tend to use their cannon fodder ehm colony “volunteers” there instead on the front. And if they were used in combat, then they were sperated and had their own divisions/ regiments and usually used as cannon fodder.

The Soviets did the same with women (except the cannon fodder part), although here they rather used them as specialized soldiers (snipers, tankers, pilots, field medic) too in the first phase of the Great Patriotic War due to the massive lack of pilots and tank crews as the Wehrmacht simply overran the airfields and barracks. There were no significant amount of normal riflemen who were women, though.

Deal with it.
