Johnson LMG to Br 3

On the other hand the M1918a2 has 34 vertical recoil and a more manageable RoF.

I don’t quite know how to pull the stat cards for the enlisted weapons yet unless anyone like @dregomz or @robihr could show me how to

also dregomz is no longer with us…

May he rest in peace! He was one of my favorites!

Yeah, RIP to the german main.

Snuffed out silently by the devs, not even allowed to go out in a blaze of glory.

Only found out about it by accident because I saw a certain clan man shit talking him on the discord.

Ok so this is the actual recoil that I took a screenshot of. The top row is the bar a2 and the middle one is the Johnson lmg

Johnson is just a bit faster than the BAR, similar to the MG42 vs MG34, but at least MG42 still has 50 rounds, while Johnson is lackluster in BR4 against German MGs and even the Te-4.
Maybe replace its BR4 spot with a BAR modification or a 50rd. M1919 (assuming it exists).

That or a 75 round belt as i did remember reading up on those existing

Nvm I looked it up and was given a clear answer that 50 round belts were used for the m1919

There were 40-round BAR magazines made for AA use.

They were however withdrawn from service in 1927… could be a fun event weapon though, but perhaps the tech tree slot should just go to a 50-round M1919A6 due to that.

I’m not against that.

Yea that’s something that BR4 US needs desperately since the other br4 mgs have mah capacities of 63 rounds and over. I even go as far as to say add a 75 round m1919 instead of a 50 round belt.

Sadly, those were not a thing.

Cloth belts only existed in 50, 100 and 250 sizes (some rare anectdotal sources claim there was also a 150 belt). Metal belts I think only came in 250 (and I think also 2x100 belts that were easily joinable).

There’s also a British Vickers K with a 60 round magazine to consider (effective MG 42 equivelant), not strictly a “US MG” though but only purists like me care about that, it’d still be in the same tree.

idk if US army had starter belts in ww2. i know that in korea(or vietnam) they had starter belts with 25 rounds for easy moving and they could clip another belt on it.

It belongs in br2 with it’s actual rpm.

I’d like to ask for a clarification here, because I am unsure if you’re leaving open the idea/suggestion for a possible 25-round version in the game, or if you’re questioning the existance of any specific size of belt I mentioned (and if so, which one that would be)…?

However, yes, I am not aware of concrete proof that starter belts (25-rounds) were used during WW2, I think they started out being used in Korea (more likely that the 150 round belts are real than WW2 starter belts, but either are plausable I’m not sitting on any solid proof).
